Bob's Datapack
No reviews yet
This datapack is basically a few weird addons that I added to minecraft while I was sick and off my meds. It adds (semi) realistic injuries for players and mobs and a few other things.

Description
This datapack is essentially an unbalanced trip made by me while I was sick and off my meds. It adds (semi) realistic injuries for both players and mobs, and a few basic changes, such as making diamond tools and armor unbreakable (only when crafted by the player). It adds a new death penalty system where you lose one heart each time you die, to a minimum of 5 hearts (keep inventory is enabled), and have to regain them by crafting shots (as in injections, not alchohol). It also has a few weird things that I added when I was really sick, including a custom dimension that you can go to (it might take a while to get there). It does have slight horror elements, but it's not that scary, since this IS still Minecraft. The horror elements will take a bit to come in, and they aren't very good since I have no imagination. I added a guide book that should tell you everything you need to know, but here are a few things that I forgot to add that I think I should go over:
-
I know bandages don't stop bleeding, but since you bleed out at a rate of half a heart every thirty seconds, you can just hold crouch to heal faster than you bleed out. If you can't heal from crouching because you're on under one-third health, that's when you should use bandages. Bandages used to heal bleeding, but it became pointless once I introduced crouching to heal 2 hearts every 12 seconds. I know it's weird that they don't stop bleeding. They used to, but when I added the ability to crouch to heal, just stopping bleeding became pointless, so healing it is.

The version says that it's for 1.21.9 to 1.21.11, although it was made in 1.21.11 so I don't know how it'll fare in older versions, but I trust Modrinth's detect versions feature to pick the right versions.

While the guide implies that They can be killed, I just want to mention that They can in fact take damage, but They do have quite a bit of health. Stay at a distance and use a bow, unless you have very good armour. The guide does say most of this, but I did notice that it looks like They aren't taking any damage when you hit them, so I want to make sure that people know that They can die so that they don't complain about the invulnerable entities that wont go away.

If you want to fully heal your injuries you need to be on full health. If you want an annoying effect to go away, wait until you've fully healed and then wait longer. You can speed it up with potions of regeneration or sleeping in a bed to heal faster. If you're max health is only 5 hearts because you keep dying, you will need to get shots for injuries to fully heal (they will still partially heal, but they won't fully heal).

Rocks look like grey dye. Since I am a degenerate who plays with old textures, they look fine to me, but they look kind of weird if you have new textures.

I said this in the guide, but if a recipe says in the recipe book that it requires skeleton spawn eggs, just use rocks. Rocks are just highly edited skeleton spawn eggs that can't spawn anything, because you can't detect components in a custom crafting recipe. Also please check the recipe book because I can't fit anything else in the guide due to command length limitations, so all the recipes are in the built in recipe book.
Okay, anyway, what do I say as an outro? Idk just go play it or keep doomscrolling. Also no, my name isn't actually Bob, I just made a character called bob (without the capital I know the title has a capital but that's to keep it tidy) when I was younger and I reused the datapack files from then because I couldn't be bothered making another datapack. This datapack was inspired by Better Than Wolves, Wonderland.jar (although I focused more on the dimensions than the horror, and there's only one dimension in my datapack at the moment), and Overly Realistic. Also the photo on the front is my cat Storm.
