Description

Bottled Light

adds a simple way to place invisible, adjustable light sources without cluttering builds.

When placed, a Bottled Light creates an invisible block that emits light level 15 by default. The brightness can then be reduced (diluted) by using water bottles, lowering the light level by 1 per bottle.

To make locating placed lights easy, holding a Bottled Light item causes nearby lights to emit subtle sparkle effects on the client, helping you find them without permanently revealing the block or affecting other players.

Features

  • Invisible light-emitting blocks
  • Starts at light level 15
  • Brightness can be diluted using empty water bottles
    • Each bottle reduces the light level by 1
    • No collision and no visible model when placed
    • Subtle sparkle highlights only while holding Bottled Light
    • Sparkles are client-side only (other players do not see them)
    • No mixins or custom renderers
    • Lightweight and vanilla-friendly

Intended Use

  • Decorative builds
  • Hidden interior lighting
  • Fine-grained control over light levels
  • Builders who want clean lighting without visible blocks
