About

Description

C2Chunk is a performance-focused core mod for Fabric designed to completely eliminate the traditional world height and depth restrictions in Minecraft.

By fundamentally restructuring how the game handles space, C2Chunk replaces standard vertical sub-chunks with independent 16x16x16 cubic chunks. Instead of loading an entire vertical column from bedrock to the sky, the game dynamically loads only the specific 3D cubes directly surrounding the player. This massive optimization allows you to build, dig, and explore infinitely upwards and downwards with minimal impact on your hardware.

Key Features

  • True 3D Chunk Loading — Implements 16x16x16 independent cubic chunks, drastically reducing memory usage at extreme heights.
  • Infinite Height & Depth — Build massive skyscrapers or dig into bottomless abysses without hitting hardcoded vanilla limits.
  • Lightweight Architecture — Written with a clean codebase focused entirely on one core mechanic to maximize compatibility and performance.

Technical Details & FAQ

  • How does it work? Vanilla Minecraft forces the engine to process chunks vertically all at once. C2Chunk breaks this pipeline down, allowing the engine to stream world data horizontally and vertically on demand.
  • Is it safe for existing worlds? Since this mod heavily alters world generation and chunk structure, it is highly recommended to generate a brand new world.
  • Modpacks: You are fully allowed and encouraged to include this mod in any modpack.

Important Notes

  • Backups: Always create a backup of your saves before updating or installing experimental world-generation mods!
