FEATURES

Client&Server Mod,

 Recover Your Catch

Salmon no longer disappear into an item when they're killed.

Instead, every catch becomes a physical fish that can be recovered and brought back to camp.

Live salmon and recovered salmon use larger models.

 Cook Over Real Heat

Place your catch on the coals and watch it cook in real time.

Heat Sources

• Lit Campfire
• Soul Campfire
• Magma Block

Campfire Range

• Normal surfaces: up to 2 blocks away
• Heat-retaining surfaces: up to 3 blocks away
• Direct magma contact cooks immediately

Heat-retaining blocks include:

• Brick
• Andesite
• Blackstone
• Deepslate

Approximate Cooking Progress

Rare ............. ~7 sec
Rare (Edible) ... ~16 sec
Medium .......... ~26 sec
Cooked .......... ~35 sec
Burnt ........... ~47 sec

Once you take a bite, cooking immediately stops.

 Eat What You Cook

Instead of instantly consuming an item...

Eat directly from the placed salmon.

• Sneak + Right Click while hungry
• Visible bites taken with every bite
• Rare and medium fish restore less hunger
• Fully cooked fish restores the most food
• Burnt fish turns to ash

Raw and cooked salmon can be broken back into vanilla salmon items.

────────────────────────────────────────

 Drag Your Catch

With empty hands you can drag salmon back to camp.

Native dragging:

• Requires both hands empty
• Interact again to release
• Slows the player while dragging
• Automatically disconnects if:
  • The fish gets too far away
  • You change dimensions
  • You mount another entity
  • You log out

Unrecovered fish naturally disappear after roughly five minutes.

The optional visual drag rope is disabled by default.

────────────────────────────────────────

 Hungry Wolves

Cooking outdoors isn't always safe.

Wild wolves can:

• Notice cooking fish
• Guard it
• Eat it
• Defend it from nearby players

 Carry On Compatibility (Recommended)

Carry On greatly expands what you can do with this mod.

With compatibility enabled:

• Carry fish naturally
• Place fish onto campfires
• Mount fish on walls
• Store fish inside containers
• Retrieve stored fish from chests
• Sell fish to villagers

Storage Limits

Single Chest .......... 3 Fish
Chest Boat ............ 3 Fish
Minecart Chest ........ 3 Fish
Double Chest .......... 6 Fish
Snowy Spirit Sled ..... 3 Fish
Trotting Wagons ........ 5 Fish
Astikor Carts .......... 5 Fish

Disable Carry On compatibility in the common config if you prefer Catch N Cook's native dragging system.

 Jade Support

When Jade is installed, salmon display their current cooking stage:

• Raw

• Burnt

                                                                    Catch N Cook

Cod will be added next, and by the middle of next year hopefully the rest of Minecraft’s fish.

Eventually, I also want to add sea creatures from other mods and build compatibility around them.

I’d like to expand interactions between wolves and fish as well, like wolves eating salmon to regain health.

Further carry-on features are planned too, including optional eating while holding the fish.

Cooking, and eating animations and models are also things I want to improve over time.

Enjoy CatchNCook consider supporting for further development on my projects, thank you.
