Chammer

Chammer adds vanilla-style tools that make mining and digging a little more satisfying: Chammers clear stone and ores in a 3×3 area, while Chovels do the same for dirt, sand, gravel, and other shovel blocks.

Both tools come in Wooden, Stone, Copper, Iron, Golden, Diamond, and Netherite tiers. They fit into your existing survival world, use vanilla-style item designs, and have their own Chammer creative tab.

How it works

Break a suitable block to clear a 3×3 area aligned with the face you hit. Hold sneak for precise, single-block breaking. Each tool follows its matching vanilla material for mining speed, durability, harvest level, enchantability, and repairs.

Efficiency, Unbreaking, Fortune, Silk Touch, and Mending work with normal Minecraft mechanics. Each block drops its ordinary loot and uses durability normally; Unbreaking can reduce that wear. Mining stops when the tool breaks. Chovels also retain regular shovel path-making and campfire extinguishing.

M = matching material, S = stick, · = empty slot.

Use planks, stone-tool materials, copper ingots, iron ingots, gold ingots, or diamonds. Upgrade a Diamond Chammer or Diamond Chovel with a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template and Netherite Ingot at a smithing table. Existing enchantments and other item components carry over.

Vanilla details

• Wooden tools can fuel furnaces.
• Copper, Iron, and Golden tools can be smelted or blasted into matching nuggets.
• Netherite tools resist fire and lava.
• Piglins recognize Golden tools as loved gold items.

Extra mining skips containers, spawners, unbreakable blocks, blocks your tool cannot harvest, and neighbors more than 1.5 times as hard as the center block. It respects normal interaction limits and Fabric block-break cancellation. Creative mode uses single-block breaking.

Install Chammer and Fabric API on both the server and clients for multiplayer.

Updating

Close Minecraft and replace your old Chammer JAR with the latest version. Keep only one Chammer version installed. Existing hammers keep their item identifiers and recipes. No new world is required.

Code and original model definitions are MIT licensed. Models use textures supplied by the installed game; Minecraft texture files are not bundled. The aperture-style hammer logo was generated with AI.
