About

Description

Chandler’s Optimizations improves Better than Adventure’s terrain renderer so larger render distances are more practical.

The mod raises the render distance limit to 64 chunks and reworks parts of the old beta-style chunk renderer to reduce wasted CPU work. It uses a smarter chunk rebuild queue, avoids repeatedly scanning and sorting huge numbers of chunk renderers, and caches more of the renderer’s internal terrain state instead of recalculating it constantly. There are also options to prioritize loading chunks in the Frustum and turn on Multidraw to make fuller use of the GPU.

The result is smoother performance and faster terrain loading especially at high render distances.

The mod also includes an in-game profiler overlay (can change hotkey in controls) and benchmark tools used during development to measure frame time, chunk rebuild work, and terrain rendering cost.

Requires BTA Fabric 7.3_04 and HalpLibe 5.4.0.

Note: This seems to run best with Multidraw Terrain Renderer ON and Frustum Priority OFF. You can find this at the bottom of Video settings under Chandler's Optimizations.

Frustum priority will make terrain load in faster but for an fps hit. It needs improvement.
