Chaos Chickens

Unpredictable. Hilarious. Deadly.

So, every time a chicken spawns in your world, there's a 35% chance it'll get a random chaos trait. We made it configurable because some servers want mild chaos and others want absolute mayhem.

The traits range from "annoying but funny" to "why is there a chicken summoning zombies at me?" Boss Chickens are the real endgame content though — they show up about 2% of the time, combine multiple traits, and hit like a truck.

This is maintained by the DemonZ Development community. If you want to tweak values, add traits, or report broken behavior, the GitHub repo and Discord are the best places.

What the traits actually do

Trait Behavior Range / Notes
Explosive Detonates on death Block damage can be toggled
Speed Moves way faster 3x default movement
Fire Lights blocks underneath Immune to fire/lava
Magnet Pulls nearby items Steals loot from the ground
Golden Drops valuable items Nuggets, ingots, emeralds, diamonds
Disco Rainbow particles + sound Continuously
Zombie Chases players and summons reinforcements 8 block aggro range
Teleport Random teleport when approached or hit 5 block trigger
Ice Freezes water, places snow 2 block freeze on death
Cursed Applies Blindness, Slowness, or Poison 6 block proximity
Boss Apex multi-trait chicken 2% chance, 3x health, weakness aura

The Boss variant is the highlight. It combines 3+ traits, has a custom boss bar, drops a Nether Star, and grants an advancement to whoever gets the final hit. It also has a few attacks — ground block launch and random lightning strikes — so bring armor.

Boss Chicken details

  • Spawns with a BOSS Chicken tag and red boss bar
  • 12 HP instead of the normal 4
  • Weakness aura in a 16 block radius
  • Won't teleport even if it has the Teleport trait
  • Drops guaranteed Nether Star + diamonds

Supported platforms

  • Folia: tested with region scheduling
  • Fabric: 1.21 through 26.x
  • Forge: 1.21 through 26.x

Singleplayer and multiplayer both work.
