Thanks for checking out Chas' Ores! Here's a run down of the features:
Chas' Ores includes 6 unique ores, most of which are unique and differ from other ore mods. I made this mod because I love ore mods but dislike when most of the ores overlap with ones from other mods that don't solely add ores.
Planned features:
- 3 more ores (Nether Fruit,BloodMetal and Gaianite)
- Opal: New tool textures, new mechanic for the ore (similar to suspicious sand).
- Aurorium: New "freeze" mechanic for when you hit mobs with the tools or when you are hit while wearing the full armor set.
- Eldritch Ore: New Eldritch Critter model, Better and more uniform design for Eldritch armor and tools.
These are the 6 ores that Chas' Ores adds to your world, in order of rarity:
- Illuminite
- Cobalt
- Opal
- Aurorium
- HellStone
- Eldritch Ore
Illuminite
Illuminite is an early game ore that can be found on the surface of the overworld and in caves. As its name suggests, it glows and can be used to make torches. You can also make illuminite tools, which makes entities glow on hit.
Cobalt
Cobalt is a mid game ore found in overworld caves. It is a bridge between Iron and Diamond, being slighlty stronger than iron and slighlty weaker than diamond. It is used entirely for combat in tools. Cobalt is meant to be a combat-focused mid game ore, so that iron can instead be used for the multitude of other items that require it.
Opal
Opal is a shiny multicolored ore found deep in overworld caves. Though it does not have an ore, it can be found by using a brush on "Suspicious deepslate", a new type of deepslate. Opal can be used to craft tools that are more effective than diamond but less durable. Opal tools also have very high enchantibility, making them good alternatives to diamond.
Aurorium
Aurorium gems, unlike other ores, aren't mined. They come from Aurorians, otherworldy beings found in the ice spike biomes. Aurorians drop Aurorium Gems at a random rate. Aurorium is used to make tools and armor, which are stronger than diamond and have some chilly proprieties. Aurorium tools need some heat to offset their coolness, and as such are built with netherite rods.
HellStone
HellStone is yet another upgrade to netherite. Have you ever wanted to be the doomslayer in minecraft? This is the closest you're going to get while staying somewhat close to vanilla. HellStone is found in lava and can only be harvested with a netherite pickaxe. Once you've acquired HellStone, you can use a smithing table and a Netherite Upgrade to turn your netherite sword and armor into HellStone.
Eldritch Ore
Eldritch Ore is found in the end and require netherite tier tools to mine. When broken, Eldritch Shards will drop, with which you can craft eldritch ingots. However, Something else can happen when you break the ore. There is a 1/3 chance that, when broken, Eldritch Ore spawns an Eldritch Critter, a small being from another dimension. When the player kills this critter, they will be able to pick up the critter's corpse as an item. Eating this critter will empower a player wearing a full set of Eldritch armor, but harm a player not wearing it.
