Villagers now talk!

This mod makes villagers react to the world around them with floating chatboxes above their heads. No text-to-speech, no AI models at runtime — just hundreds of hardcoded dialogue lines that play based on what the player does.

Features

  • Floating chatboxes (Text Display entities) appear above villagers’ heads
  • Messages stay for 5 seconds (short lines) or 10 seconds (longer lines)
  • Villagers react to many player actions, including:
    • Flying in creative mode near them
    • Breaking blocks nearby
    • Interacting / trying to trade (special lines for baby villagers)
    • Simply being near them
    • Random idle chatter and simple conversations between villagers
    • 7600+ unique lines!
  • Cooldown system so they don’t spam messages
