PauC Ultimate de Ouf is a Forge rendering cocktail that mixes distant LODs, shader compatibility, and a small performance governor into one very serious-looking baguette of chaos.

About

Description

Making Minecraft smarter instead of simply lowering your settings.

PauC Ultimate is not another optimization mod.

Its long-term goal is to become a real-time performance governor capable of managing Minecraft like a modern operating system manages CPU resources.

Instead of blindly reducing graphics quality, PauC continuously analyzes the current workload and decides where computing power should be invested.

Whether you're exploring huge worlds, running 300+ mods, using heavy shaders, or playing fast-paced First-Person Shooter modpacks, PauC aims to keep your experience as smooth as possible.

Vision

Most optimization mods focus on one subsystem.

PauC Ultimate tries to coordinate everything.

  • CPU workload
  • GPU workload
  • Chunk generation
  • LOD rendering
  • Entity rendering
  • Shadow rendering
  • Memory pressure
  • Rendering priorities
  • Future AI-assisted scheduling

The objective is to make Minecraft adapt to your hardware instead of forcing your hardware to adapt to Minecraft.

Designed for Large Modpacks

PauC Ultimate is increasingly being designed around demanding experiences such as:

  • First-Person Shooter modpacks
  • Survival overhaul packs
  • Massive exploration packs
  • Realistic worlds
  • Heavy shader environments

The governor continuously monitors performance and dynamically adjusts internal systems to maintain smooth gameplay.

A Different Approach to Shadows

Modern shader packs often spend a huge amount of GPU time generating massive shadow maps.

PauC Ultimate is experimenting with its own shadow map management system.

The long-term objective is to significantly reduce the GPU cost of shadows while preserving visual quality.

This opens the door to:

  • lower GPU usage
  • higher frame rates
  • better compatibility with demanding shader packs
  • more stable performance during gameplay

This feature is still under active development but represents one of the project's biggest ambitions.

Long-Term Goals

  • Intelligent performance governor
  • Dynamic workload balancing
  • GPU optimization
  • CPU scheduling
  • Adaptive LOD generation
  • Smarter rendering pipeline
  • Better shader integration
  • Reduced frame spikes
  • Automatic performance profiles
  • Scalable optimization for huge modpacks
