Because sometimes vanilla needs a little spice.

The goal of this skill tree mod is to provide a relatively well rounded levelling experience that provides a fair amount of progression, whilst remaining fair and relatively vanilla-friendly.

This skill tree is suited for:

  • Players who want more out of their minecraft without overdoing it
  • Players who want to choose their skills depending on their playstyles
  • Players who want a balanced experience where strong abilities also come with really impacting downsides
  • Singleplayer & Multiplayer!

This is a vanilla++ Fabric-only skill tree that satisfies most people who want more of 1.20.1 Minecraft without adding anything that detracts from the original experience.

Features

Five Distinct Skill trees

(see pictures in the gallery)

Path of the Warrior

  • Governs your health, resistance, and melee damage & knockback.
  • Get XP in this tree by killing enemies with melee weapons. The higher the HP of the enemy, the more XP you will gain.

Path of the Rogue

  • Governs your ranged damage but also your dodge chance and exclusive skill nodes like backstab damage.
  • Get XP in this tree by killing enemies with ranged weapons. The higher the HP of the enemy, the more XP you will gain.

Path of the Mage

  • Governs all 6 elements introduced by RPG Wizards, and also the amount of XP you gain.
  • Get XP in this tree by killing enemies with magic. The higher the HP of the enemy, the more XP you will gain.

Path of the Explorer

  • Governs player speed, jump height, luck.
  • You start this path with the option to unlock a major abillity that will completely change your playstyle, like the ability to teleport at will, jump 20 blocks high, or even phase through walls. But beware, each ability comes with massive drawbacks, so choose wisely.
  • Get XP in this tree by opening naturally generated chests.

Path of the Miner

  • Governs your mining efficiency and anvil repair prices.
  • Also allows you to swim in lava if you so desire.
  • Get XP in this tree by mining. The rarer the rock, the more XP you will gain.

Desperate Humour

I have made many attempts to be funny in my descriptions. Some of these land, some are a bit out there. I did my best okay? So uh yeah, if you don't like pop culture references and a guy trying way too hard maybe this isn't the skills mod for you.

Q&A

Compatibility with origins

The mod is designed around origins being disabled. The mod grants you origins powers with the notion that you are a human player. If you do not configure origins to only allow human, this means players may be able to unlock completely contradictory powers, or multiple active powers at once, which may completely ruin balance and also cause issues. This is why in my modpack, origins is pre-configured to not give the option of other races when players join the server - you should definitely do this!

I am overpowered!

I strongly recommend adding at least one or two mods that add difficulty to combat to offset the power boost you get from the skill trees. For example, in my modpack I have added a pre-configured SIHYWTCAMD.

Cinnamon Modpack

This skill tree is designed to be integrated with my vanila++ modpack also called Cinnamon! It includes the Create mod as a base and a bunch of mods around that to keep your experience fresh, but still familiar. It also comes with one or two mods that add a bit of difficulty to the mobs of the game to offset the extra powers you get from this mod (which would otherwise probably make you overpowered).
