Real-time Cobblemon

Cobble Companions replaces the turn-based battle screen with real-time combat in the world. Your sent-out Cobblemon attack with their real movesets and animations, using the main-series damage formula, type matchups and status effects.

Wild Cobblemon and Radical Trainers fight back the same way. Switch between Defensive, Aggressive and Catching modes with one key, and let your team help out with farming, fetching and field moves between fights.

Three modes, one key (G)

• Defensive: fights anything that attacks you or your Cobblemon, and anything you attack. Never goes looking for trouble.
• Aggressive: Hunts nearby hostile mobs and wild Cobblemon. Never touches players, pets, villagers or anything on your never-attack list, and leaves shinies alone by default.
• Catching: Wild Cobblemon are held at 10% HP and put to sleep or paralysed using effect moves, so they're easy to catch. Your own hits can still finish them.

Real Pokémon combat

• Moves are scored by power, accuracy, same-type bonus and type effectiveness. Or press H to rotate through moves or lock to one slot.
• Damage uses the main-series formula. Burns, paralysis, poison and sleep all work.
• Your Cobblemon earn real Cobblemon experience and EVs. They level up, learn moves and evolve as normal.
• At low HP your Cobblemon retreats to you, giving you time to heal, switch or run.

Wild Cobblemon fight back

Every wild Cobblemon fights back with its own moves. Ones with an aggressive nature (Brave, Adamant, Naughty...) attack on sight. Provoke one and it holds a grudge.

Battle panels and info

Cobblemon's own battle panels show your Pokémon (top left) and your opponents (top right) during a fight. Press I to hover them for types, weaknesses, ability, nature, held item and moves with PP.

Helpers out of combat

Your Cobblemon fetch dropped items, harvest and replant crops, berries and apricorns, and put out fires. Press V to use Cut (fells whole trees), Rock Smash or Dig on the block you're looking at, at your tool's mining speed.

Works with
