Description
Cobblemon Chat Alerts
Cobblemon Chat Alerts is a lightweight Fabric companion mod for Cobblemon. It adds configurable Minecraft chat notifications for important Pokemon events, helping players notice rare spawns, Pokedex progress, evolutions, and level milestones without adding a separate UI overlay.
Features
- Alerts when rare wild Pokemon spawn.
- Alerts when rare Pokemon are captured or defeated.
- Alerts when a Pokemon is ready to evolve or has evolved.
- Alerts for new Pokedex entries.
- Alerts when a Pokemon reaches level 100.
- Separate rarity filters for shiny, legendary, mythical, restricted, Ultra Beast, perfect IV, and high IV Pokemon.
- Configurable rare-spawn audience using a block radius, chunk radius, or the whole dimension.
- Optional coordinates, biome, level, and IV details.
- Clickable coordinates that prepare a
/tpcommand for players with the necessary permissions. - English and French localization.
- JSON configuration with optional Mod Menu integration.
Configuration
The configuration file is created automatically at:
config/cobblemon-chat-alerts.json
Each alert category and rarity filter can be enabled or disabled independently.
In singleplayer, Mod Menu edits the configuration used by Minecraft's integrated server.
On a dedicated server, the configuration file in the server's own config directory is authoritative. Client-side Mod Menu changes are not synchronized to a remote server. After editing the server configuration manually, restart the server to apply the changes.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- Fabric Loader 0.19.3 or newer
- Fabric API 0.116.8+1.21.1 or newer
- Cobblemon 1.7.3+1.21.1 or newer
- Cloth Config API 15.0.140 or newer
- Java 21 or newer
Mod Menu is optional, but recommended for in-game configuration.
Multiplayer
Cobblemon Chat Alerts is required on both the client and the server.
The server detects Cobblemon events and determines which alerts should be sent. The client provides the mod resources and translated chat components.
For singleplayer, installing the mod in the client instance also makes it available to Minecraft's integrated server.
Additional Notes
- Alerts are displayed in Minecraft chat.
- Whole-dimension spawn alerts notify every player in the same dimension as the Pokemon.
- Perfect and high IV rarity filters are disabled by default.
- Pokemon names use Cobblemon's translated components and follow the player's selected Minecraft language when a translation is available.
- Clickable coordinates only prepare a teleport command. Players still need commands enabled or the appropriate server permissions.
- The rarity-filter gallery screenshot was taken with version 0.1.2. The non-functional sub-legendary filter visible in that image was removed in version 0.1.3.
