Description
Use formatting codes in anvils to style your item names
This is an unofficial port of Colorful Anvils by rogi27 for Minecraft 1.21.8+.
How to Use
- Place an item in an anvil
- Type your name with formatting codes (e.g.
&c&lFire Sword) - Take the item, it now has colored text
Check the gallery for examples of each formatting style.
No Character Limit
Vanilla Minecraft caps anvil input at 50 characters. This mod removes that cap entirely, so you can type long gradients, lore lines, and complex formatting without getting cut off.

Lore Support
Add lore lines using | as a separator:
&c&lFire Sword|&7Burns everything|&eDeals fire damage
The part before the first | becomes the item name, everything after it becomes lore lines. Renaming without a | clears any lore that was already there.
Server Config
The config file lives at config/colorfulanvils.json. It lets you toggle colors, formatting, hex, gradient, rainbow, and lore on or off individually. Permission support through fabric-permissions-api is available but off by default.
