Tired of swapping your chestplate for an elytra every time you want to fly? Colytra lets you attach the elytra to the chestplate, so you keep your armor and your wings at the same time.

How it works

Put a chestplate and an elytra together in a crafting grid. You get the chestplate back with the elytra attached, and the wings show on your back when you wear it. Put the chestplate in the grid on its own to take the elytra off again.

  • The attached elytra keeps its own durability and enchantments, shown in the chestplate's tooltip.
  • Repair it on an anvil with phantom membranes, or with Mending as you pick up XP.
  • Works with modded chestplates too.

Config

The server config (serverconfig/colytra-server.toml in your world) has:

  • fusionType: NORMAL keeps the elytra separate (it can be taken off and has its own durability), UNISON fuses it into the chestplate so flying wears down the chestplate instead (or uses energy, for powered armor), PERFECT fuses it and flying costs nothing.
  • itemListType and itemsList: an allow or deny list of chestplates that can take an elytra.
  • energyCost: energy used per second of flight for powered chestplates in UNISON mode.
