Welcome to the world of CONTINUUM where entropy and randomness rule the world...

Upon defeating the Ender dragon it drops a dragon egg. From there you can craft an NPC attractor (or, in some versions, an NPC spawn egg). For this reason IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU PLAY EITHER WITH A MOD THAT MAKES DRAGON EGGS RENEWABLE OR USING A DRAGON EGG DUPLICATION SYSTEM.

Upon using the NPC attractor the NPC arrives to your location.

The NPC is a friendly merchant that sells Continuum Gemstones for the hefty price of 2 emerald blocks per gemstone (Simply right clicking on the NPC will perform the transaction). Gemstones can be crafted into blocks and vice versa, and mining a block will shatter it into nine gemstones.

Continuum gemstones are very special: upon using them they give you a completely random item, chosen from both vanilla and any mods that are installed (there are a few exceptions, such as command blocks, bedrock, and fluid blocks). This can potentially include very overpowered items, game breaking items, and even more continuum gemstones, blocks, NPC attractors, and dragon eggs.

Continuum gemstones can also be used by dispensers which dispense out (does not use!) the random item.

The NPC can survive on its own but it prefers to have a house. A house must be sufficiently large but not too large, and must have a door and a light source. Light sources must be permanently on by default--no redstone lamps, redstone torches, or candles.

The Housing Query is crafted using 8 sticks surrounding a redstone dust. Right clicking it on the floor of a house will tell you if it is valid, and if so, the NPC's house location will be set to that floor block.

Upon nightfall, the NPC will start walking towards the house if it is far enough away from you, and will teleport if further away.

The NPC also passively gives out a harming aura to most hostile mobs and a healing aura to most friendly mobs and players.

BE AWARE THAT ONLY ONE NPC CAN EXIST IN THE WORLD AT A TIME. FURTHER ATTEMPTS TO SPAWN THE NPC USING THE ATTRACTOR WILL FAIL WHILE AN NPC IS ACTIVE. IF THE NPC WAS KILLED PREVIOUSLY THEN THE SPAWNING WILL WORK.

CREDITS

The idea for the continuum gemstone comes from the Continuum Orbs of the 1.7.10 Aether II mod. The housing system takes inspiration from Terraria.
