Description

Controlled Fracture (Forge 1.20.1)

A precision vein-mining system focused on control, durability management, and progression.
This is not a generic vein miner: it is opt-in, tool-restricted, and enchantment-driven.

Core Rules
- Must be sneaking to activate
- Pickaxes only (other tools never activate)
- Unenchanted pickaxes behave like vanilla
- Hard caps prevent lag
- The tool is never allowed to break (mining stops before it would)

Enchantments

Andesite Breaker I–III ("controlledfracture:vein")
Break connected andesite while sneaking.
- Levels: I, II, III
- Only works on andesite
- Search radius and hard cap are limited for performance
- Higher levels increase block cap and efficiency

Durability behavior:
- Mining stops early if the tool would become unsafe
- Shows an on-screen warning when durability is too low

Obsidian Shatterer ("controlledfracture:obsidian_cutter")
Controlled multi-block obsidian mining.
- Level: I
- Only works on diamond and netherite pickaxes
- Sneak to activate
- Hard cap prevents lag
- Can coexist with Andesite Breaker (Breaker tier increases the obsidian cap, but an absolute hard limit always applies)

Loot and Progression

Andesite Breaker I
Chest loot:
- Dungeon spawner chests
- Mineshaft chests
- Ruined portal chests
Trades:
- Librarian (mid tier)
- Wandering trader (extremely rare and overpriced)

Andesite Breaker II
Chest loot:
- Bastion chests
- Ancient City chests
- Stronghold corridor + crossing chests
Trades:
- High level librarian only (expensive, low chance)

Andesite Breaker III
Chest loot:
- Ancient City (rare)
- Bastion treasure (rare)
- End City (rare)
Trades:
- None

Obsidian Shatterer
Chest loot:
- Stronghold library (main source)
- End City (secondary source)
Trades:
- None

Anvil Rules
Book merging:
- Breaker I + Breaker I → Breaker II
- Breaker II + Breaker II → Breaker III

XP costs:
- Book I → II: 10 levels
- Book II → III: 20 levels
- Tool I + Book I → II tool: 12 levels
- Tool II + Book II → III tool: 24 levels

Hard restrictions:
- Only pickaxes can receive these enchantments
- Obsidian Shatterer only applies to diamond/netherite pickaxes

Compatibility
- Minecraft: 1.20.1
- Loader: Forge 47.x
- No other mods required

Notes
Creative mode can bypass normal restrictions. Survival behavior is enforced through the enchanting/anvil systems and loot progression.
