About
Description
The Copper Ore & Equipment mod adds copper ore generation to the overworld in slightly less abundance than iron, but more often found distributed higher up in the hills and mountains up to Y 128, so you may not find as much copper compared to iron in flatter areas. Copper ore can be smelted or blasted to make ingots and formed into tools, armor & weapons. Copper material sits between stone and iron for effectiveness with a durability of 192, a harvest level equivalent to stone, and enchantability 16 for tools and 11 for armor, making it slightly better than iron, but not as good as gold for enchantment purposes. Copper is easier to shape than iron and a wider variety of weapons can be made from it. Basic copper knives and swords can be modified further by adding additional copper nuggets during the crafting process to change the guard or blade shape. A broad-bladed copper sword for example can deal more damage, but swings much slower than a regular copper sword. Additionally, copper knives and swords can have gems inserted into their pommels. Copper weapons with emeralds or diamonds in their pommels can be smelted down to recover their gems or blasted in a furnace into copper nuggets.
Copper Shears
Copper Shears require overriding base game files including the loot_table/block for cobweb, dead bush, fern, leaf, grass/seagrass, and vine blocks. This will conflict with any mod that overrides those blocks.
Copper Knife-Shears
Copper Knife given limited shear-like ability allowing harvest of cobwebs, ferns, seagrass, and vines.
*Stone Pickaxe Override:
Stone Pickaxes crafted after this mod is installed can no longer mine iron ore, you will need the Copper Pickaxe for iron ore now. If you have older stone pickaxes lying around, they will still be able to mine iron ore.
Gems in Pommels: The process of placing a gem in a pommel and aligning it to a weapon will remove any enchantments currently on them. Socket your gems first!
Redstone, Lapis Lazuli, Emerald, Diamond
WIP: Not fully-implemented
Gem-specific effects
Gems in pommels don't do anything yet. I will make a copper materials subtype for pommels with gems.
Redstone Dust: Redstone can be used to overcharge copper and in a copper weapon it becomes volatile and unstable: Durability 16; Damage x2.
Lapis Lazuli: Enhances enchantability of copper to 18.
Emerald: Emeralds appear to enhance balance and swing, greatly increasing attack speed.
Diamond: Reduces enchantability to 14, doubles Durability.
