Description

Cozy Chaos

Minecraft survival, but the universe has decided to be a problem.

Cozy Chaos is a Fabric mod for Minecraft Java Edition that adds 26 ridiculous challenges to your game. One minute you're hopping around like a bunny. The next, your inventory has a mind of its own, the farm animals want revenge, and an ad is covering your screen.

Play with one random challenge, juggle several at once, or choose Stacking Mode and watch the nonsense pile up until every challenge is active.

Compatibility: Minecraft 26.3 · Fabric Loader 0.19.5 (versions specified for this project)

✨ Features

  • 26 unique challenges ranging from mildly inconvenient to actively dangerous.
  • Three game modes: Normal, Multiple, and Stacking.
  • Timed challenge rotation so survival keeps changing.
  • Multiplayer-aware: challenges are tracked separately for each player, with effects synchronized for other players to see or hear where applicable.
  • Custom sounds, visual effects, and death messages for extra chaos.
  • Chat commands to start, stop, inspect, and configure challenges.
  • Optional admin controls to select challenges manually or trigger specific effects for testing.

🎮 Getting started

To start with one random challenge:

/cozy start

See what's active and when the next change happens:

/cozy status

Want more than one challenge at once?

/cozy mode multiple 3
/cozy start

Ready for things to get progressively worse?

/cozy mode stacking
/cozy yes
/cozy start

Note: Stacking Mode requires you to acknowledge its explanation with /cozy yes before starting. If you switch to Stacking Mode while challenges are already running, confirming can resume the game automatically.

🔀 Game modes

Mode How it works
Normal One random challenge at a time. It changes every 10 minutes.
Multiple Choose 2-5 different challenges to run together. The entire set changes every 10 minutes.
Stacking Start with one challenge, then add another at each interval without removing the earlier ones. Eventually, all 26 can be active.

Stacking Mode intervals depend on how many challenges are currently active:

Active challenges Time until the next challenge
1–2 10 minutes
3–4 20 minutes
5–25 30 minutes
26 Maximum reached, no more challenges to add

In Normal and Multiple Modes, each new random selection avoids the challenges from the immediately previous selection.

🤡 All 26 challenges

Challenge What goes wrong
Short (short) You're tiny, move faster, and have half your maximum health.
Bunny (bunny) Grow visible bunny ears and jump to move on land.
Lactose Intolerance (lactose) Milk is lethal, cake hurts, and nearby cows make you nauseous.
Clumsiness (clumsiness) Walking (especially sprinting) might make you trip and freeze for 3 seconds.
Becoming Deaf (deaf) Game audio is muted without changing your saved volume settings.
No Stopping (no_stopping) Stay still too long and you explode. Keep moving!
Low Gravity (low_gravity) Jump much higher, drift slowly down, and avoid fall damage.
ButterFingers (butterfingers) Every minute, you might drop your entire hotbar.
Slippery Shoes (slippery_shoes) Every surface suddenly feels like blue ice.
Farm Revolt (farm_revolt) Cows, sheep, pigs, and chickens turn against you.
Traps (traps) Opening a chest might trigger a loud jumpscare.
Big Brain Mode (big_brain) Your head grows to three times its size, you slow down, and nearby mobs glow.
Allergies (allergies) Random sneezes launch you forward; flowers make it much worse.
Inventory Gremlins (inventory_gremlins) Two random hotbar slots swap every 30 seconds.
Clown Shoes (clown_shoes) Every jump makes an embarrassing honk.
Drama Queen (drama_queen) Taking damage is a full theatrical event; even eye contact with a mob gets dramatic.
Magnet (magnet) Dropped items float back to you instead of staying dropped.
Picky Eater (picky_eater) Food might be spat back out and leave you nauseous and hungrier.
TRex Arms (trex_arms) Tiny arms mean only 2 blocks of interaction reach.
Angry Trees (angry_trees) Breaking logs gives no wood and sends you flying backward.
Doorbell Disaster (doorbell) Opening a door rings a bell and damages you.
Inventory Roulette (inventory_roulette) Items dodge your cursor by jumping between inventory slots.
Unskippable Advertisement (advertisement) Fake ads block your view every 2 minutes. Crouch 3 times to skip.
Living Tools (living_tools) Your tools cry and plead when you use them.
The Chicken Council (chicken_council) Five judgmental chickens occasionally surround and freeze you.
Explosive Trick (explosive_trick) Defeated mobs sometimes leave behind an exploding TNT surprise.

For exact probabilities, damage values, cooldowns, and special interactions, use:

/cozy describe <challenge_id>

🤝 Multiplayer notes

  • Challenge sessions are managed per player, so different players can have different active challenges.
  • Relevant challenge state is synchronized so other players can see effects such as altered player appearance or animations.
  • Some sounds are audible to nearby players.
  • Some effects interact with the world or nearby entities, so your friends may still be caught in the chaos.

⚠️ A few things to know

  • Challenges can be deadly, disruptive, or both. Consider testing in a backup world first.
  • Certain combinations are intentionally ridiculous. For example, ButterFingers + Magnet can make dropped stacks fly straight back to you.
  • Stacking Mode is meant to become increasingly chaotic; /cozy next and /cozy set are unavailable in this mode.
  • Custom audio and visual content is part of the experience, so other players should use the compatible mod client.

Cozy Chaos - because regular survival was apparently too relaxing. :D
