This mod (Forge only yet) adds Potassium and Sulphur Ores, which allow you (through a particular process that mimics the real one) to craft Gunpowder;

which you can normally only get by slayng Creepers (that over time it gonna starts to get boring).

Unlike the other mods which add similar contents.

the manifesto of this mod is to avoid items which exist only for one purpose, becoming useless in advanced game. 

 
Note: the main version is the 1.20.1

Few details:

Potassium ore only generates in the Overworld, while the Sulphur ore spawns both in the Overworld (in deepslate too) and the Nether.

In order to craft Gunpowder,

first you need to craft the Saltpetre by mixing Potassium, Rotten Flesh, and Bone Meal. 

 

The potassium can be obtained by smelting the Raw potassium.

Then after that, you will be finally able to Craft thy Gunpowder(it isn’t so difficult as you think).

 Now, using Saltpetre, Sulphur and Coal/Charcoal (and sugar if you want to increase the gained amount).

 

if you have any gunpowder in excess, you may use it to make amazing throwable Explosive Bundles (name suggestions are appreciated).

  NOTE: if  you don't like this feature, disable it trough this Datapack : Explosive Bundle Remover for Potassium & Sulfur's Gunpowder (official) Minecraft Data Pack (planetminecraft.com)

Keep in mind that the Potassium Block explodes when in contact with water (but if you don't like this, simply turn the gamerule doPotassiumBlockExplode to false or wax them like the vanilla copper).

Potassium Blocks need to be handeled carefully nearby water or might react violently

wax them like Copper to prevent any harmful behaviour (or disable the reaction via doPotassiumBlocksExplode gamerule)

Blue Vitriol is a new shiny addition the the mod use it to Clean up mossy blocks, grass, mycelium, and infested stones or to speed up copper oxidation (it can also be turned to blue Dye)
