About

Description

Create: Orrery

A data-driven planet addon for Create: Northstar Redux, expanding your solar system with new, explorable worlds.

Orrery builds on top of Northstar's rocket and survival mechanics, introducing a flexible, data-driven framework to add custom celestial bodies. Every new world defines its own gravity, atmosphere, temperature, and resources, fully integrating with Northstar's core systems (telescopes, rockets, life support, and more).

✨ Features

  • Data-Driven Worlds: A robust PlanetData registry system allowing planets, gravity, skies, and fall-damage scaling to be configured easily.
  • Telescope Alignment: Seamless integration into Northstar's telescope tracking system, including built-in fixes for sky rendering bugs.
  • Curated Surface Generation: Immersive landscapes designed to feel alien. Overworld structures (villages, igloos) are cleaned out, while mod-compat resources (like AE2 meteorites) still generate.
  • New Tools & Resources: Custom ore variants and tool-tier progressions mapped to the harsh environments of deep space.

🪐 Explorable Celestial Bodies

🧊 Pluto

The famous Kuiper Belt dwarf planet.

  • Environment: Ultra-thin, deep black sky casting sharp, alien shadows.
  • Gravity: Roughly 6% of Earth's gravity—even more floaty than Eris.
  • Surface: A freezing wasteland composed of nitrogen ice sheets and water-ice mountains.

🌑 Eris

The distant, freezing dwarf planet located in the scattered disc.

  • Environment: A pitch-black, star-filled sky with a faint, dim Sun. No atmosphere.
  • Gravity: Roughly 8% of Earth's gravity (~0.084g)—expect massive, floating jumps and delayed fall damage.
  • Surface: Covered in moon sand and stone, featuring deposits of Copper, Zinc, Tungsten, and Titanium.
