Description

Cryptid Core Co Field Operations
Deep in the forests and snowy backcountry, something is watching you. Six blocks tall. Human-shaped. Not human. It leaves footprints, sheds fur, howls at night — and disappears the moment you get too close.

Welcome to the Cryptid Core Co Field Operations Division.

What It Does
Cryptid Core Co Field Operations puts a real, believable Bigfoot into your Minecraft world. This isn't a hostile mob to grind. It's a rare, elusive cryptid that mostly wants to be left alone — but leaves plenty of evidence behind for a careful hunter to find.

Explore a forest at night and you might hear a howl from somewhere far off in the trees. Follow it and you might find fresh footprints stamped into the mud. Track them, and you might spot a 6-block-tall figure between the trunks — that turns and runs the moment it notices you.

Bigfoot is neutral. It flees when you get close. If you hit it, it retaliates once or twice before running again. If you're patient enough to bring one down, you get fur, blood samples, and if you're lucky, a tooth. Real cryptid evidence for a real cryptid hunter.
Features

* Massive 6-block-tall, 3-block-wide Bigfoot — human-like upright build (not ape-like), based on real cryptid witness sketches
* Rare natural spawns — averages ~15 minutes of exploring before you find one
* Spawns in regular forests (Forest, Dark Forest, Birch, Taiga, Old Growth Pine/Spruce) AND cold biomes (Snowy Taiga, Snowy Plains, Grove, Snowy Slopes)
* Neutral behavior — Bigfoot flees when you get within 10 blocks, sprints faster than you, uses terrain to break line of sight
* Retaliation if provoked — hit it and it hits back briefly (5 damage per swing) before fleeing again
* Never despawns — once you find one, it's yours to track (or hunt)
* Ambient howls audible from up to 70 blocks away, 3x more common at night
* Custom heavy footstep sounds — you can hear one walking long before you see it
* Footprint blocks — Bigfoot stamps mud tracks every few blocks it walks; fade after ~5 minutes, so fresh tracks tell you a Bigfoot was JUST here
* Scat blocks — permanent evidence Bigfoot has been in the area, collectible with crouch + right-click as an evidence sample
* Blood on hit — red particle burst plus a 15% chance to drop a Bigfoot Blood Sample per damaging hit
* On-death loot — Bigfoot Fur, Blood Samples, plus a 20% chance for a rare Bigfoot Tooth
* Dedicated "Cryptid Core Co" creative tab with every mod item and block
* Bigfoot Spawn Egg for testing in Creative Mode
* Persistent worldbuilding — Bigfoots don't reset, footprints stay for minutes, scat stays forever
Roadmap
This is Stage 1 of a planned 6-stage build. What's coming:

* Stage 2 — Custom "Piney Creek Hollow" forest biome inspired by Fall Creek Falls State Park, plus rustic campsite and creek shed structures
* Stage 3 — Full Bigfoot variants (age, gender, color, muddy variant), rock-throwing, tree-peeking, curious kid Bigfoots, hiding behind trees and in bushes, random wild wood knocks, prey dragging, bone piles, Bigfoot stick tree structures, fur caught in trees
* Stage 4 — Field Operations gear: flashlight, camera, recorder, Field Journal, trail cams, tree-knock stick that Bigfoot may respond to
* Stage 5 — Cryptid Core Co. branded cosmetic apparel (shirts, hats) as armor
* Stage 6 — Additional forest biomes, polish, and full release

How It Changes Gameplay
This isn't a boss mob mod. This isn't a horror mod. It's a mod that puts a real cryptid in your Minecraft world and gives you the tools to track, document, and hunt it.

It's especially good for:

* Roleplay and adventure worlds where cryptid encounters add mystery to exploration
* Content creators making "cryptid hunting" or documentary-style Minecraft videos
* Players who want atmosphere and rare encounters more than combat grinding
* Friend groups running survival worlds with a cryptid subplot
* Anyone who's ever wanted to feel the "did I just see something in the trees?" moment in Minecraft
Compatibility
Built for Minecraft 1.20.1 using Forge 47.4.10. Adds one entity (Bigfoot), two blocks (footprint, scat), four items (fur, tooth, blood sample, scat sample), and one spawn egg. No changes to world generation or existing blocks. Should play nicely with almost any other mod.
