Description

Cultivate:

Voluptuous Veggies

Summary

VV is the second mod in the Cultivate mod series, but it works just fine independently! This mod adds 6 new crops: Tomatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Chilli Peppers, Basil, Chanterelle Mushrooms, and Endshrooms. The crops are grown in a unique way using some vanilla and some modded aspects. You will be rewarded for growing these crops with the best food in the game: Magic Veggie Soup! You'll also enjoy regular veggie soup, and baked sweet potatoes which are much easier to acquire.

Important Notes

-The textures are in a higher resolution than vanilla 16px textures. This is just my art style and preference. I'm working on a texture pack for vanilla plants and crops, so everything can match, if you like my artstyle. Otherwise, there are many higher resolution texture packs out there that look good with this mod. I don't think vanilla looks that bad with it either! There is a slight possibility I will release a 16px version, but I have no immediate plans.

-There are 2 bugs in this mod to watch out for: 1. Feeding a cow a hay block gives you manure, but for some reason the cows eat 2 hay blocks at a time. 2. You CANNOT sow seeds at night. You will lose your seeds so dont do this! I hope to fix these bugs soon but at the moment, I dont know how.

How-To Guide

1. How to find crops:

-Tomato, Basil, Chili Pepper, and Sweet Potato can be found in Abandoned Greenhouse structures. These spawn in flower forests, meadows, and sunflower plains. They are rare structures. Make sure to use a hoe to harvest crops!

-Chanterelle mushrooms can be found in Mushroom Houses. These spawn in Dark forests and Swamps. They are also rare.

-Endshrooms spawn randomly and rarely in the End Dimension.

2. How to grow crops:

-For Tomato, Basil, Chilli Pepper, and Sweet Potato: Plant your seeds in farmland as you would normal crops. They wont grow and shade and can't be planted at nighttime due to a bug. Your plants will grow slowly on their own, or you can bonemeal them. Once your crops reach stage 5, you'll need a special fertilizer to get them to flower. The fertilizer is crafted from bone meal, dried kelp, and manure. Manure can be acquired by feeding cows whole hay blocks. Once your crop is flowering, you'll need a bee to pollinate it. Bees are attracted to the crops like normal flowers. Then, use a hoe to harvest! Fortune helps!

-For Chanterelle Mushrooms: Plant your spores in a shady location. They will not grow in too much light. Your mushrooms will grow slowly on their own, or you can use manure to speed up growth. Once they get to stage 5, they will need manure before you can harvest them. Harvest with a hoe! They do not need to be pollinated.

-For Endshrooms: Plant your spores in a shady location. They will not grow in too much light. Your Endshrooms will grow slowly on their own, or you can use Chorus Fertilizer to speed up growth. Once they get to stage 5, they will need Chorus Fertilizer before you can harvest them. Chorus Fertilizer is crafted from 4 chorus fruits. Harvest with a hoe! They do not need to be pollinated.

3. Food Guide

-Baked Sweet Potato: Takes the least amount of effort to get. Just put a sweet potato in a furnace. It gives more hunger and saturation than a normal baked potato.

-Veggie Soup:  Crafted from tomatoes, sweet potatoes, chilli peppers, basil, chanterelle mushrooms, and a bowl. Gives a full hunger bar and great saturation.

-Magic Veggie Soup: Crafted from tomatoes, sweet potatoes, chilli peppers, basil, endshrooms, and a bowl. Gives a full hunger bar, great saturation, Health Boost Lvl 3, Speed 2, Jump Boost 2, Regeneration 2, and Resistance 1.
