Description
Darts
A proper dartboard for Minecraft. Hang one on the wall, grab a friend (or play on your own) and have a game of darts.
The darts are real 3D darts. They fly in an arc and stick where they land, in the board or in the wall if you miss. Your hand sways while you aim, every dart is called out ("Treble 20!", "ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY!"), and the chalkboards either side of the board keep score as you play.
Getting started
| Item | Recipe |
|---|---|
| Dartboard | Planks in the corners, black wool on the edges, red wool in the middle |
| Dartboard with Chalkboards | A Dartboard with polished deepslate either side and white dye above it |
| Darts | An iron nugget, an iron ingot and a feather going diagonally, with the feather at the top right |
Hang the board on the side of a wall at head height (the block above the one at your feet). A brass line, the oche, appears on the floor 3 blocks out: throw from behind it. You'll also find everything in the creative menu.
How to play
- Right-click the board with an empty hand (or sneak and right-click with your darts) to open its menu.
- Pick a game and how much your hand sways, then press Join on a seat. You can play on your own too.
- Choose your darts from the drop-down lists: 16 flight designs, 8 barrels and 12 shaft colours.
- Press Start game.
- On your go, stand behind the oche, aim with the crosshair and hold right-click to draw back. Let go when the power bar is in the green. Let go too early and the dart drops low; hold on too long and it flies high.
- You get three darts a turn. They come out of the board on their own, and then it's the next player's go.
The scoreboard in the top left shows the scores, your darts this turn and, in 501 and 301, a checkout to go for.
When no game is running, the board is in practice mode and anyone with darts can have a throw.
The games
- 501 and 301: count down to exactly zero and finish on a double (or play straight out or master out).
- Cricket: close 15 to 20 and the bull, and score on the ones your opponent hasn't closed.
- Around the Clock: hit 1 to 20 in order, then the bull.
- High Score: most points after 5, 7 or 10 rounds.
- Shanghai: each round has its own number. A single, double and treble of it in one turn wins outright.
- Free Throw: no rules, just throw. Press Finish when you're done and the most points wins.
Sway
Nobody's hand is perfectly steady. Pick how much your aim wobbles while you draw back:
| Sway | |
|---|---|
| Sober | Steady as a rock |
| Tipsy | A gentle wobble |
| Wobbly | One too many |
| Legless | Who moved the board? |
The crosshair always shows where the dart will go, so you can fight the wobble with the mouse. Sneak to steady your hand a little.
The chalkboards
The Dartboard with Chalkboards has a chalkboard either side, like a dartboard cabinet with its doors open. Player 1's is on the left and Player 2's on the right. They're chalked up as the darts land: the 501 column with the old scores crossed out, cricket marks, the clock and so on, plus a WINNER! at the end.
They need the space either side of the board to be clear. Rather not have them? Use the plain Dartboard, or turn them off in the config.
Showing your darts off
Four display blocks show a set of darts as the real 3D darts. Right-click one with your darts to put them on show, and with an empty hand to take them back.
| Item | Recipe |
|---|---|
| Dart Stand | Any wooden slab and green wool |
| Dart Plaque | 3 planks on top, then planks, green wool, planks |
| Dart Case | 3 glass panes on top, then planks, red wool, planks |
| Dart Pedestal | Red wool on top of 2 quartz blocks |
Good to know
- For Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge. You don't need any other mods.
- It needs to be installed on the server and on everyone's game.
- Works with Sodium and Iris.
- Server owners can change how far back the oche is, whether you have to stand behind it, and how much random spread every dart gets.
- You're welcome to use it in modpacks.
