About
Description
The DC Universe, starting with the Green Lantern Corps. One power ring for Sector 2814 chooses its bearer at random from everyone playing, a few minutes into a new world. Charge it at your power battery while you speak the oath, and turn your willpower into hard-light constructs: the ring's classic powers, or a copy of any block, item or creature in the game, modded ones included. Works alongside the Infinity Stones mod.
Requirements and install
- Minecraft Java 26.3, Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer, Java 25.
- Fabric API.
- Put the jar in your
modsfolder, on the client and on the server (both need it). The Infinity Stones mod is optional; with it installed the two mods know about each other. - Something wrong? The game log is
logs/latest.login your Minecraft folder; lines from this mod start with(DC Universe).
Controls
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| Y | Open the construct screen: pick what the ring should make. |
| G | Make it. Hold G to keep making it. Sneak + G lets go of every construct. |
| O | Put the uniform on or take it off. Sneak + O switches between the comics' look and HBO's Lanterns jacket. |
| Use the ring | Same as G. |
| Right-click the power battery | Charge the ring (about ten seconds, while you speak the oath). |
In the construct screen, just start typing to search (@modid shows one mod's things), click to choose (shift-click to choose and keep the screen open), scroll or drag the bar to browse. The panel on the right shows the hovered construct as the ring would make it, creatures turning on the spot, with the will it needs and what it costs.
What the ring does
- Ring powers: energy blast, giant fist, force field, wall, bridge, cage, grab and throw, hammer, dome, construct gatling, repair, scan and an emergency beacon to every other Lantern.
- Blocks: any block, alone or in a shape (wall, platform, pillar, dome, or a cage around what you look at). Construct blocks only go where there is room, never break anything, and fade after a while (longer the stronger your will). A construct put into water or lava gives it back when it goes. They grow into place and flicker before they let go.
- Items: any item, unbreakable, working like the real thing, but only in your hands, hotbar and armour slots. Light cannot nourish, hold a brew or create life: no eating, no drinking, no breeding animals on it; and whatever it is turned into (a bucket filled with water) is still light. It will not go into chests, bundles, item frames, composters, campfires and the like.
- Creatures: any mob, as green hard light. They follow you, fight whatever hurts you or whatever you fight (and any monster close by), never your side. Mobs that shoot in life (skeletons, blazes, ghasts, guardians...) fire bolts of light. Horses, camels, nautiluses and happy ghasts come saddled: right-click to ride. They never drown, burn, fall or suffocate, and they last only while your will does. (On Peaceful, monsters cannot take shape.)
- Flight while the ring has charge, and life support: air under water, no burning, no freezing, no fall damage, and once every thirty seconds an emergency force field against a killing blow. If the ring runs dry in mid-air, its last light lets you down gently.
Willpower and fear
Every construct needs enough will to picture it and costs charge (rookies pay up to half again as much, strong wills less). Will grows with every construct you make and with every fear you face and survive. Fear rises with low health, darkness, a Warden nearby and enemies crowding in; it eats into will, and when it overwhelms will every construct breaks. At will 40 training is over and the uniform shows the Corps symbol instead of a rookie's white circle. Face your fear and reach will 65 and you accept fear: free of the yellow impurity (until then, nothing of your will can touch anything yellow: bees, blazes, yellow sheep, gold armour, the Mind Stone).
The Book of Oa
Taking an innocent life in your sector (a villager, a trader, a golem or someone's pet that never attacked you, a player who had not attacked you) is a violation: a warning, then probation (half the ring's charge withdrawn), and at the third you are expelled. The ring leaves to find someone worthier. It also leaves when its bearer dies or resigns (/lantern resign), and with four or more people playing, Sector 2814 gets a second ring.
Commands
/lanternor/lantern status: your will, fear, charge, rank and record./lantern help,/lantern oath,/lantern rings,/lantern resign.- Operators:
/lantern choose [player](send a ring now),/lantern will <0-100> [player],/lantern charge <0-200> [player],/lantern status <player>.
With the Infinity Stones mod
The ring will not copy a stone, a gauntlet or a relic; holding the Power Stone overcharges the ring past 100%; the Mind Stone glows yellow; construct creatures cannot be made thralls, and the snap simply puts them out.
