Deadman's Clock

A small Forge mod that adds Tidewatch, a rare treasure enchantment for the vanilla Clock.

Keep an enchanted Clock in your inventory and the natural passage of daytime slows down.

The stronger the enchantment, the slower the world moves.

Tidewatch Levels

Only the natural progression of dayTime is affected.

Other parts of the game continue ticking normally.

What is NOT slowed

Tidewatch does not slow:

• game ticks
• entities
• mobs
• redstone
• crops
• furnaces
• scheduled ticks
• commands
• /time set
• /time add
• sleeping through the night

It only changes the natural movement of the sun and moon.

Disabling doDaylightCycle still stops the day/night cycle normally.

How to use it

Tidewatch works on the regular vanilla Clock.

The enchanted Clock does not need to be held in your hand.

It can be anywhere in:

• your main inventory
• your hotbar
• your offhand

The strongest Tidewatch Clock you carry determines the effect.

Multiplayer

Tidewatch affects the world's natural time globally.

If multiple players are online, the highest Tidewatch level carried by any player is used.

For example:

• Player 1 has Tidewatch I
• Player 2 has Tidewatch III

The server runs at the Tidewatch III day-speed: 4× slower.

This applies even if the players are currently in different dimensions.

Obtaining Tidewatch

Tidewatch is a treasure enchantment.

It cannot normally be obtained from:

• the enchanting table
• villager trades

Tidewatch enchanted books can be found in Shipwreck Treasure chests.

Each level has its own independent chance to appear:

• Tidewatch I — 10%
• Tidewatch II — 8%
• Tidewatch III — 5%

Because the rolls are independent, a particularly lucky chest can contain more than one Tidewatch book.

Apply the enchanted book to a regular Clock using an Anvil.

Tidewatch enchantments cannot be combined with each other to upgrade or stack their levels.

Death

With keepInventory disabled, a Tidewatch Clock drops normally when you die and can be recovered.

With keepInventory enabled, Tidewatch-enchanted Clocks are intentionally removed on death.

Normal Clocks and unused Tidewatch enchanted books are unaffected.
