Description

Decay: Every Minute A Block Gets Deleted

Nothing lasts forever and now, it reaches even further.

Decay is a subtle survival-horror twist on vanilla Minecraft. Every 60 seconds, the world around you quietly falls apart sometimes it's the ground beneath your feet, sometimes it's the creatures around you.

⏳ How It Works

  • Every 1 minute, the mod scans a very wide area around each player now covering a 24-chunk radius in every direction
  • 90% of the time, it picks one random naturally generated block type in that area stone, dirt, ores, logs, leaves, anything the world generated on its own and removes every instance of it at once
  • 10% of the time, it instead picks a random mob/entity type nearby and makes every one of them vanish completely
  • A chat message always announces exactly what was lost, and how much of it

🛡️ Smart & Fair

  • Only naturally generated terrain is affected anything you place with your own hands is completely safe and will never decay
  • Critical structures like chests, furnaces, crafting tables, spawners, and end portal frames are always protected
  • Ender Dragon and Wither are exempt from mob decay, so boss fights stay intact
  • Works seamlessly across multiplayer servers, tracking decay individually around each player

🎮 Why Play With Decay?

Whether you're building a base, mining, taming animals, or exploring, Decay adds a constant, creeping sense of urgency across a huge area around you. Nothing is guaranteed to stay. Race against time, adapt, and watch the world and its inhabitants slowly fade around you.

⚙️ Compatibility

  • Built for Fabric
  • Best suited for singleplayer / client-side use in this version due to the large scan range
  • No config needed, works right out of the box

⚠️ Performance Note

Version 1.4 significantly increases the area scanned every minute. This may cause a noticeable pause each time decay triggers, especially on slower hardware. A configurable, server-friendly version is planned for a future release.

Whether you're building a base, mining, or exploring, Decay adds a constant, creeping sense of urgency. That vein of iron you were saving for later? That patch of forest outside your window? Nothing is guaranteed to stay. Race against time, adapt your builds, and watch the world slowly erode around you.
