About

Description

DeepslateInfestation

A Fabric Minecraft mod that makes it more challenging (and annoying) to mine within deepslate.

Important!

  • Optionally requires JsonPatcher to have the new mob included into kill_a_mob and kill_all_mobs advancements.

Description

Adds a new mob — Deepslate Silverfish — that only spawns under Y = 0 (configurable) even in places fully lit up by torches (configurable), but only near deepslate blocks — including slabs, other non-full blocks, walls, and even ceiling. It's a darker, smaller, weaker yet a much more prevalent version of a normal Silverfish.
Not only it spawns naturally where deepslate generates, the mob is also quite often found in a form of infested deepslate blocks.

Good luck mining with this little annoyance!

Installation

Requires Minecraft 1.20.1, Fabric Loader >=0.14.25, Fabric API and Cloth Config API.
Optionally requires JsonPatcher to have the new mob included into kill_a_mob and kill_all_mobs advancements.

Configuration

The mod can be configured from within the file ".minecraft/config/deepslateinfestation.json5" or using modmenu.

  • Light level preventing Deepslate Silverfish spawning can be specified (15 by default, meaning allow spawning regardless of light level)
  • Maximum height below which to allow Deepslate Silverfish spawning can be specified (0 by default, meaning allow spawning where deepslate starts generating)
