Demon Ronin

Yamikage, the Demon Ronin is a masked samurai spirit. He fights with fast dashes, crescent slashes that fly across the field, an on screen name for every big move, and a transformation halfway through the fight.

Summoning

Craft a Cracked Oni Mask and use it on the ground. Lightning strikes, his name flashes across the screen, and he rises out of the earth.

He won't appear on Peaceful.

The fight

Phase 1 (Masked)

  • Crescent Draw: a quick-draw slash in a wide arc
  • Shadow Step: dashes straight through you, leaving afterimages
  • Moon-Cleaving Arc: a flying crescent slash for when you keep your distance

At half health: RELEASE, Twin Moons He kneels, the mask cracks, a crimson shockwave blasts everything back, and a second katana appears. He gets faster and every attack hits harder.

Phase 2 (Released)

  • Hundred Shadow Flurry: five blink-and-dash cuts from every direction
  • Domain: Crimson Moon Garden: he builds a dome arena around you both. The floor is paved, the inside is cleared, and you can't run. Glowing slash marks cut across the floor while he meditates in the middle, which is your chance to hit him. When the domain ends, every block goes back exactly how it was.

Rewards

Twin Moon Katana: a katana that hits hard. Not much else to say. Besides...

  • Right-click, Shadow Step: blink 8 blocks forward and cut through everything in your path.
  • One in each hand, then Sneak + Right-click, ECLIPSE: Hundred Moons: blink between up to 6 enemies, X-cutting each one, then finish with a giant cross slash. You can't be hurt while it runs. 30-second cooldown.

He drops one katana per kill. For Eclipse you'll need to beat him twice.
