Description

Deprive

Deprive is a survival–hardship mod for Minecraft built on Fabric.
It introduces a spoilage system for food and new survival mechanics that make staying alive more challenging.

✨ Features

  • Food spoilage system

    • All selected foods (e.g. opened canned foods) will rot over time.
    • There are 5 spoilage phases — from fresh to completely rotten.
    • Spoiled food provides less hunger and may apply negative effects like poison or nausea.
    • Items store their own "creation time," so spoilage is tracked individually.
    • Canned food system

      • Adds a variety of canned food items (beans, bolognese, carrots, fruit cocktail, etc.).
      • Cans are safe to store indefinitely.
      • Once opened with a Can Opener, the food becomes edible but begins spoiling.
      • Opened cans leave behind an Empty Can.
    • New tools and weapons

      • Can Opener: used to open canned food (durability-based).
      • Nailed Bat: a brutal melee weapon crafted with nails and wood.
    • Configurable spoilage

      • Spoilage durations and effects are configurable via deprive config.
      • You can add or remove spoilable items with data pack tags (spoiling_items, non_spoiling_items).

⚙️ How it works

  • Freshly created food items are tagged with the current world time.
  • Each tick, spoilage is calculated based on how long the item has existed.
  • The spoilage system does not depend on seasons (like the original SpoiledZ), but purely on time passed.
  • Food has 5 spoilage stages: 0. Fresh (100% hunger restored)
    1. Slightly stale
    2. Half-spoiled
    3. Nearly rotten (reduced hunger, chance of poison)
    4. Rotten (very little hunger, nausea, strong poison)

📦 Installation

  1. Install Fabric Loader and Fabric API.
  2. Place the Deprive .jar in your Minecraft mods/ folder.
  3. Launch Minecraft with Fabric.

🛠️ Configuration

  • Configurable via Cloth Config / AutoConfig.

    • Effect chance and duration
