# Detonance Core: Dynamic Shockwave Physics
Detonance Core turns Minecraft explosions into staged, server-authoritative shockwaves. Pressure travels through space, loses energy through materials and occlusion, then drives dust, debris, fire fragments, sound delay, camera response and concussion on the client.
## Features
- Material-aware pressure for wood, stone, dirt, sand, gravel, glass, metal, obsidian, diamond, netherite and modded blocks.
- TNT cluster merging: nearby TNT is bounded into one stronger blast instead of scattering into unrelated small explosions.
- Dark, long-lived smoke; separate beige sand dust that spreads along the ground; material collapse dust and fire fragments.
- Delayed glass, door, trapdoor and gate reactions, pressure knockback and bounded physical block debris.
- Long-range sound with a speed-of-sound delay, power-scaled boom/rumble/echo and client-side concussion, heartbeat and persistent ringing.
- Optional progressive structural collapse for unsupported buildings, bridges and overhangs. It is disabled by default and enabled by an operator with `/detonance collapse on` or the server config.
- Fabric and NeoForge support for Minecraft 1.21.1, with generic compatibility for explosions that use Minecraft's normal pipeline.
## Installation
1. Install Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1 and the matching Fabric or NeoForge loader.
2. Install the required loader dependency (Fabric API for Fabric; NeoForge for NeoForge).
3. Put the matching `Detonance-Core-...jar` in the `mods` folder on the server and on every client.
4. Start the server once, then review `config/detonance-core.properties`.
5. Leave structural collapse off for a normal world; an operator can enable it with `/detonance collapse on` after making a backup.
The server owns real block/entity damage. Clients render synchronized smoke, sand dust, debris, delayed audio, camera shake and concussion. All players should use the same mod version and loader build.
## Important defaults and safety
Structural collapse is opt-in. It has bounded chain depth, radius, block count and performance presets. Test it in a copy of a world before enabling it on a long-running server. Large explosions can still be expensive on weak hardware; use the Potato or Balanced preset when needed.
## Commands
```text
/detonance info
/detonance reload
/detonance mode visual_only|hybrid|full_propagation
/detonance profile [set] arcade|cinematic|realistic|brutal_realistic
/detonance compatibility safe|enhanced|full_override
/detonance collapse on|off
/detonance collapse debug on|off
/detonance collapse scan|stress|preview
```
## Compatibility and support
The mod targets Minecraft 1.21.1 on Fabric and NeoForge. Weapon mods that call the vanilla explosion pipeline receive the generic compatibility path; a weapon's private custom physics may need a profile adapter. Report reproducible bugs with the loader, game version, performance preset, relevant config, `/detonance info`, log excerpt and a minimal world.
