INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Starting from 2.2 you will need two more dependency mods to play - GeckoLib and CuriosAPI

- Download GeckoLib from here

- Download CuriosAPI from here

- To play on NeoForge 1.21.1 you will need to use Adorned (In 2.2.1 we will use CuriosAPI like for 1.20.1), get it here

2. Put both CuriosAPI and GeckoLib in your "mods" folder in AppData/Roaming/.minecraft

3. Download our mod and put it beside the two dependency mods in the "mods" folder.

4. Have fun playing!

• It is a good idea to allocate at least 4GB of RAM to Minecraft for smoother experience. OptiFine doesn't seem to work with NeoForge 1.21.1 and we don't encourage the players to use it. To improve performance, you can use Sodium or Embeddium

ABOUT OUR PROJECT

• This mod is based on Cube Kid's book series Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior. We aim to bring the features of the fantasy world of Aetheria to Minecraft. The mod is still not finished and we will continue updating it. Please keep in mind we work on this project in our free time so updates might not be too frequent.
• The mod adds tools, items, blocks, structures and entities from the series' universe. We also made the Aeon Forge which is used to craft advanced items. For crafting recipes check the "Images" on this page or craft "Knowledge Book" that has all recipes inside. In the future updates it is planned that the villagers living in the Villagetown, you spawn in each time you create a new world, will give you quests and send you to retreive items from dungeons for rewards. Stay tuned for 2.2.1.

WHAT IS MY GOAL IN THIS MOD?

• Play as you like, but if you are looking for an "ending" your main objective is to get the best armor, weapons and tools and fight against Herobrine. If you succeed you will be rewarded with items and collectibles. Each time you defeat him, there is a chance he will drop different items. Be aware that he's not an easy foe so thorough prepearations are advised. Have fun and good luck!

NOTE:
It is recommended to play without OptiFine. The reason is it breaks some of the models and they don't render properly. For performance boost you can use alternate mods like Embeddium and for shader support use Oculus mod. We will provide no support regarding visual glitches to players using OptiFine.

Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior, coming to Minecraft

Ever dreamed of playing in Aetheria next to Runt, Breeze, and their friends? It's now possible! Will you be a hero like Kolb or a minion of the evil, serving Herobrine?
That's up to you in this RPG-like mod, a recreation of the universe from the popular book series Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior by Cube Kid.

Aetheria, playable.

In Team Minus, we're are all fans of the book series, and wanted, like you, to play in this universe like Kolb or Ione used to. With this idea in mind, we decided to make this experience a reality and share it with other players so their dreams can come true!

We base ourselves as much as possible on the original books written by Cube Kid, and plan to include all the content we can see in the Aetherian universe in this mod.

The features are developed on our free time, so it might take time to update, please forgive us! If you want to keep in touch with us, join our Discord!

Lost?

Don't worry, it might not be easy to really know what to do at first. Our mod adds new gear (tools, weapons, armors, more?) that you can try to get to defeat the evil, Herobrine, in an peic boss fight!

Of course, quests will guide you in your long jounrey to become the savior of Aetheria. (feature not implemented yet)

Installation Troubleshooting

For the best experience, follow this installation tutorial.

1. Download and install the Modrinth App.
2. Create a new instance in version Neoforge 1.21.1 Stable (if you don't see an option for Stable, keep it that way) (Neoforge 21.1.209)
3. Open the "Install content" menu.
4. In the "Mods" section, search for "Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior" an click "Install"
5. Go back to the instance. Curios API and Geckolib should have automatically been installed as well. If not, go back to manually install them
6. Optionally, for better performance, we recommend using Sodium and Lithium.

It is not recommended to play using Optifine, as it is known to break other mods. We provide no official support for players using deprecated versions of the mod (Latest: 2.2, MC 1.21.1, NF 21.1.209)
