Dimensional Chaos

One block, an unstable gateway, and a whole island to build.

Dimensional Chaos is a custom Minecraft mod built around a different kind of survival experience. You start on a tiny island in the void, gather resources from a regenerating OneBlock, and gradually work your way towards more advanced materials, machines and dimensional exploration.

The mod handles the core gameplay systems behind Dimensional Chaos - OneBlock, our companion modpack.

Progressive OneBlock

Your OneBlock changes as you progress, giving you access to different resources as you reach new milestones.

There are currently seven generation phases:

1. Beginnings

2. Survival

3. Engineering

4. Industry

5. Arcane

6. Dimensional Chaos

7. Advanced Survival

The resource pools are designed for modded survival, with progression safeguards to help prevent players from getting stuck without important materials.

Mining respects Minecraft's normal harvesting mechanics, and your progress is saved between sessions.

Timed Dimensional Expeditions

Your island also has a gateway to other dimensions.

These expeditions give you a reason to leave the safety of your base, explore unfamiliar places and gather resources you wouldn't normally find on your island.

There's a catch: your return gateway doesn't stay open forever.

You'll need to keep track of your time and decide when it's worth heading back.

Holographic Island Borders

Each island starts with a protected area extending 16 blocks from its center.

As you approach the edge, a translucent turquoise barrier appears. Move away and it fades out, keeping the view around your island clear.

The border is enforced by the server, so players can't simply walk through it or build outside their unlocked territory.

It isn't made from physical barrier blocks, which also makes it easier to support island expansion in future updates.

Play Together

Dimensional Chaos supports cooperative island progression.

Players can form teams, share an island and work on the same OneBlock. Island ownership, shared progress and team changes are handled by server-side systems designed to keep multiplayer worlds consistent.

Whether you're playing alone or with friends, your island progress persists across reconnects and server restarts.

What's Coming Next?

We're continuing to build on the existing systems.

One of our next goals is quest-based island expansion: complete a series of challenges, unlock the next territory tier, and increase your island's border.

We're planning eight expansion tiers for the initial progression system, with more quests and challenges as you advance.

These expansion quests are planned features and are not part of the current release.

This project contains the Dimensional Chaos mod only, not the full modpack.

The mod is primarily developed and tested alongside Dimensional Chaos - OneBlock. Some gameplay integrations and resource pools require supported companion mods. Check the dependencies listed for your release before installing it separately.
