Dimensional Villages
Villages have reached dimensions they were never meant to survive.
Dimensional Villages expands Minecraft with complete villages in caves, biome-themed settlements inside the Nether, and End villages built only on sufficiently large islands. These are not lonely houses dropped into strange dimensions: they include connected roads, homes, villagers, iron golems, points of interest, loot, and ten new villagers with dedicated workstations and balanced Novice-to-Master trade progression.
The mod works as a standalone and came about when creating Extreme Randomizer and I thought the feature was interesting enough to deserve its own standalone mod.
Main features
- Cave villages using plains, desert, savanna, snowy, and taiga building styles.
- Nether villages placed inside real Nether caverns below the roof. Their blocks adapt to Nether Wastes, Crimson Forests, Warped Forests, Soul Sand Valleys, and Basalt Deltas.
- End villages with End-stone and purpur architecture. Island checks stop village pieces from generating unsupported over the void.
- Biome-matched chest loot for every Nether and End village family, with snowy-house items removed completely from cross-dimension settlements.
- Complete settlements including roads, houses, villagers, iron golems, workstations, and loot chests. (Basically a regular sized village).
- Ten unique villagers, each with a fitting workstation, appearance, specialization, and five normal villager levels.
- Eleven useful exploration supplies, including safe-return items, cave lighting, fire protection, maps, and emergency fall protection.
- Balanced progression: powerful supplies appear at later tiers, expensive items have limited stock, and the strongest heirloom never restocks.
- Multiplayer friendly and designed for both new worlds and existing saves. New villages generate in unexplored chunks. It is suggested to create a new world however for the best results.
How the new villagers work
Eligible untraded adults in Dimensional Villages settlements have a 60% chance to become a local specialist, so normal villagers still live alongside them. Each settlement also receives one saved 25% chance for a rare visiting merchant, with no more than one visitor created by this system.
Every specialist begins at Novice and advances through Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert, and Master using the familiar villager XP thresholds and badge visuals. Their trades, tier, stock, home binding, and workstation survive saving and reloading. Specialists restock once per 24,000 loaded game ticks.
Dimensional Villages does not replace terrain generation or biome distribution. It works on its own and is designed to coexist with biome and terrain mods. It is currently tested with Terralith, Biomes O' Plenty, Tectonic, and Waystones.
