Discovery Gems

This mod was inspired by the "Divining Rod" items from ProjectE. I wanted to be able to have the ability to find ores easier when vein mining without EMC values playing a part in it, or having the transmutation table/tablet available to me as well.

This mod contains 6 items:

• Valence Dust
  • Crafted using 8 cobblestone and 1 charcoal in the center
• Shadowed Valence Gem
  • Crafted by using 8 Valence Dust and 1 glass in the center
• Valence Gem
  • Made by smelting a Shadowed Valence Gem in a furnace
  • Can reach up to 8 blocks away
• High Valence Dust
  • Crafted using 8 coal and 1 raw iron in the center
• Shadowed High Valence Gem
  • Crafted by using 8 High Valence Dust and 1 Valence Gem in the center
• High Valence Gem
  • Made by smelting a Shadowed High Valence Gem in a furnace
  • Can reach up to 16 blocks away

How it works:

While holding the Valence Gem/High Valence Gem in your hand, right click a block face. The mod will look in the opposite direction of the clicked block face to find ores. The gem works in every direction except for diagonal since it uses the blocks face to find the direction. If an ore has been found it will list what ore was found in the chat. If it fails to find any ores then it will do nothing.
