Doctor Who Datapack
This is a fan made datapack about the Sci-Fi TV show Doctor Who. It adds a Tardis, daleks, sonic screwdrivers and other elements from the show to minecraft.
The Tardis
This datapack adds a functionning Tardis to minecraft. It is indeed bigger on the inside. Once you find it, you can use it to travel freely in the overworld. Use the controls to set the destination coordinates of your choice and flip the main lever.
Sonic Screwdrivers
As of today, you can craft 5 different sonic screwdrivers which have several functionalities:
- Open and close iron doors and trapdoors
- Trigger nearby redstone contraptions (such as secret piston doors)
- Ignite TnT from a safe distance and through blocks
- Scan mobs to get information about their health
- Detect the presence of nearby ore blocks
Daleks
The doctor's most iconic enemies are also brought to you through this datapack. They spawn in two structures:
- Dalek ships
- Dalek drills
Dalek drops
Although they are very dangerous, Daleks drop dalekanium ingots that you can use to make powerful tools and armor. You can also craft a dalek blaster that shoots powerful energy beams.
Tutorial Book
When joining a new world, you will automatically receive a book containing all the information you need to know about this datapack, including crafting recipes and the steps to follow in order to find the Tardis.
Installation
To install this datapack, unzip the folder and put it in your map's datapack folder. You also need to install the required ressource pack and unzip it.
Creative Items
If you want to play in creative and get yourself the items quickly, type following command:
/function doctor_who:give/{item name}
Tardis issues
Whenever you enter the tardis for the first time, if the interior doesn't load after a few seconds, type
/reload
in the chat. If the tardis disappears when you get out of it, type the following command:
/function doctor_who:tardis/enter
You may also need to move the tardis by a few blocks before getting out again.
Note that getting out of the tardis may take a few seconds when landing in not yet generated chunks.
