Ever felt like Minecraft’s environment doesn't affect your character realistically? Synapse is a vanilla-plus survival overhaul that introduces dynamic brain chemistry, bodily trauma, and environmental reactivity to the game through a series of unique, high-stakes status effects and mechanics.
⚡ Core Status Effects
🧪 Dopamine
  • The Rush: Triggered by major achievements, unlocking advancements, uncovering rare structures, slaying bosses, or mining precious ores. Grants a burst of Speed, Haste, and Luck.
  • The Crash: Once the excitement fades, you suffer a brief period of Slowness and Mining Fatigue as your chemical levels balance out.
🔥 Burnt
  • The Trauma: Taking prolonged damage from fire, lava, or magma blocks leaves a lingering physical injury. You are hit with severe Slowness, Mining Fatigue, and reduced attack damage.
  • The Vulnerability: While burnt, any additional fire damage deals double damage.
  • The Remedy: Diving into water or rain instantly cuts the recovery time in half.
🥶 Hypothermia
  • The Trauma: Staying in powder snow or swimming in frozen oceans causes severe core temperature drops. Your screen acquires a frozen vignette, healing stops completely, and your movements slow down.
  • The Remedy: Standing near a lit campfire instantly cures the freeze.
