One secret word. Everyone at the table knows it — except the spy. Find them before they figure it out.

Description

🎭 Dossier

One word. One liar. No idea who.

A word is drawn — a Minecraft mob, a block, a Dota 2 hero, or anything you add yourself. Everyone at the table sees it. Everyone except one person.

That person is the spy. They only know the theme.

▸ How a match plays

1. Sit down. Right-click the Spy Dossier and the table opens. Your friends right-click theirs and join. No commands to explain, no arena to build, no setup at all.

2. Get your card. Pick a theme, hit start. Everyone receives the word — or a red card telling them they are the spy.

3. Name a fact. Every round opens with the speaking order, so you know when your turn is coming. On your turn you name one fact about the word. Voice chat, game chat, whatever your group uses.

Vague enough that the spy learns nothing. Clear enough that your own side believes you are not them.

4. Vote. When the circle closes, the table votes — faces, not a list of names. Click who you suspect, or skip the round. The breakdown appears with every vote counted.

5. Or end it early. The spy can call a guess at any moment. The table freezes and they pick the word out of the whole theme. Right, and they take the game. Wrong, and they hand it to everyone else.

▸ Who wins

Outcome Winner
The spy is voted out The table
The spy guesses the word The spy
The spy guesses wrong The table
Spies come to equal the innocents The spy
All rounds pass, the spy survives The spy

▸ What you get

  • 🗂 Three themes out of the box — 71 Minecraft mobs, 72 blocks and items, 126 Dota 2 heroes
  • 🐔 Live mobs on your card — the Minecraft themes render the real model, turning slowly, not a flat icon
  • ✍️ Your own themes in a plain JSON file: a list of words, an icon, done
  • 🖼 Pictures for words — drop PNGs into the config folder and the host hands them to every client, so one person sets them up and everybody sees them
  • 🎲 Several tables at once — two groups can play different games on one server
  • 🌍 English and Russian, each player in their own game language

▸ Testing on your own

Operators get a bot stepper right in the lobby, next to the player count.

Bots never say anything. They name no facts, they do not bluff, they take no part in the discussion. They are placeholders that fill seats so one person can walk a whole match through — role deal, turn order, ejection, the spy's guess, the results screen. Nothing more.

They pass their turn in a couple of seconds instead of the full timer, and vote at random. Regular players never see the controls.

▸ Good to know

  • Required on both the client and the server — the mod has its own screens.
  • No third-party artwork is bundled and the mod never downloads anything. Pictures are files you put into config/dossier/images/ yourself; the server then shares them with every client.
