Description
DuskWhisper
DuskWhisper is an ARG-inspired horror mod for Minecraft Forge 1.20.1 that introduces a mysterious entity which exists in the chat.
At first, the world is silent.
Then, without warning, someone begins to speak.
What does the mod do?
DuskWhisper watches the chat and occasionally responds to players with unsettling messages. Instead of using simple keyword detection, the mod analyzes the meaning of a message, allowing the entity to react differently to greetings, questions, fear, anger, sadness, farewells, and conversations about its own identity.
Sometimes it answers.
Sometimes it ignores you.
Sometimes it remembers.
The entity can quote things you said several minutes ago as if you had just typed them yourself. A few seconds later, it may quietly admit that the message wasn't yours.
Everything is designed to blur the line between normal multiplayer activity and something that shouldn't exist.
Features
- Smart message classification instead of simple keyword matching
- Context-aware replies based on player messages
- Random ambient chat messages
- Player memory system that stores previous chat messages
- Memory echoes that replay old player messages
- Delayed responses for more natural conversations
- Configurable silence period for newly created worlds
- Special "first contact" event after the silence ends
- Fully configurable behavior
Designed for ARG Experiences
DuskWhisper is built for players who enjoy psychological horror, alternate reality games, and immersive storytelling.
It doesn't chase you.
It doesn't spawn monsters.
It simply waits until you're no longer sure who is actually writing in the chat.
Supported Version
- Minecraft Forge 1.20.1
"The server is empty.
The chat isn't."
The server is empty. The chat isn't.
You join a silent Minecraft world expecting nothing but abandoned structures and endless terrain. There are no players online. No footsteps. No signs of life.
Yet the chat keeps moving.
Unknown messages begin to appear. Some are harmless. Some answer questions you never asked. Others mention places you've never visited... or events that haven't happened yet.
The longer you stay, the stranger it becomes.
The entity doesn't chase you. It doesn't break blocks or teleport behind you. It waits inside the chat, watching every message, every command, every second you remain connected.
Ignore it, and it will keep watching.
Respond to it... and it will remember your name.
This mod transforms Minecraft's chat into the center of a psychological ARG horror experience, featuring mysterious conversations, unsettling events, hidden secrets, and a presence that slowly becomes impossible to ignore.
Sometimes, the scariest thing in an empty world is the one thing that never stops typing.
