e4BTA

Play Better Than Adventure! with Steam friends, no port forwarding required.

e4BTA is a multiplayer networking mod for Better Than Adventure! 8.0.1. It tunnels a BTA dedicated server through Steam Networking Messages using Spacewar (App ID 480), allowing players to host private servers without configuring router port forwarding.

Friends can discover and join available servers through the built-in Steam Friends browser. Direct .steam addresses are also supported as a fallback. Server entries display the host’s Steam name and avatar, server information, and player count.

The same JAR must be installed on the dedicated server and every joining client. Steam must be running and signed in on both the server computer and client computers. When using friends-only access, the host and joining players must be Steam friends.

e4BTA is a Better Than Adventure! port of Kamilchik’s e4steam, which is based on e4mc.
