Description
I've always found it annoying it goes straight from leather to iron, and early game leather is not large scale availabe and neither is iron. Chain is out of the question.
So I made a mod for a few easy to get early game armor types. They are unrepairable, and that's just as well because you'd probably be moving on to a better set later on instead of repairing this low cost, low protection armor.
It adds dirt, sandstone, and stone armor, as well as emerald and redstone.
I understand these are not incredibly good armors, but I made them for the purpose of easy to obtain early game armors. Less frustration. They can also be enchanted normally. Comment what kinds of armor you'd like to see next, as I can update this and possibly even make better armor. This would be a better part of a modpack than by itself. Please use the latest file. Short tutorial below.
Sandstone and stone are around the same, between leather and iron. Emerald is a little less tough than diamond in terms of protection and durability. Dirt is an armor that barely provides anything, but it's something. We're talking really early game for this one.
You craft sandstone armor in the normal patterns with any kind of sandstone. Same goes for dirt and emerald.
Stone is a little different. You put two stone and two cobblestone in a checkerboard pattern to get two stone bits. You then craft those like a normal pattern, but with one piece of leather between the top pieces of the crafting recipe. If you don't understand, experiment! Or just use JEI.
Redstone armor is a bit better than iron, crafted in the normal patterns with redstone blocks.
