About
Description
Ever noticed that your food looks exactly the same until the moment it disappears? This mod fixes that. While you eat, the item in your hand gets bitten down step by step, and potions empty out as you drink them. Your inventory icon stays whole, so only the item in your hand changes.
It's client-side only, so you can use it on any server without the server needing it.

It works for other players too, so in multiplayer you'll see them take bites as well.
About this fork
This is an updated fork of Eating Animation by theone_ss, which stopped at Minecraft 1.21. I've ported it to every version since, up to 26.3. All the animations and the idea are theirs, so go show the original some love too.
If you play on 1.20.6 or older, use the original mod instead.
Supported versions
- 26.1 – 26.3
- 1.21.9 – 1.21.11
- 1.21.4 – 1.21.8
- 1.21.2 – 1.21.3
- 1.21 – 1.21.1
Each range has its own file, so pick the one that matches your game. Needs Fabric API.
Works with other mods
Food from these mods gets animated too: Farmer's Delight, Expanded Delight, Create, Botania, BetterEnd, BetterNether, Naturalist, The Bumblezone, Adorn, Additional Additions, Hybrid Aquatic, Duckling, Snow Pig, Winterly and Food+.
You don't need to set anything up. Support for a mod switches on by itself when that mod is installed, and you can turn it off under Options → Resource Packs if you'd rather not have it.
