How to use custom claiming system:
In general: A claim consists of a 5x5 area of protected chunks. Within a claim only members of the team can break, place, or interact with blocks. Anyone can still PVP and attack entities like animals, so you need to protect them. Anyone can also trade with villagers. In order for create mod items like the drill and deployer to interact with a protected chunk they must be validated (see Validator).
The number you see appear over impact zones when attacking a protected chunk is the damage in seconds caused by that attack. This number is directly subtracted from the time remaining and consumes supplies.
Breaking harder blocks does more damage. For example, breaking 1 obsidian in an attack does about 450 seconds worth of damage while breaking 1 dirt only does about 60 seconds.
Claim Anchor: Craft with 5 obsidian, 3 iron blocks, and 1 diamond. Place down anywhere not within 150 blocks of 0,0 in any dimension and not too close to another claim anchor. Must also be on y-level 9 or above. Put supplies inside. Get a book and quill and title the book after the name of your FTB Team. The check box below the book slot will turn to a check if you’ve named the book correctly (case sensitive) and it linked to your team. It will now protect the chunk it is in and the 5x5 grid of chunks centered at the current chunk. You will be able to see this by an overlay on Xaero’s minimap and worldmap with the same color as your FTB team showing your active claim.
Once placed and using supplies, claim anchors become “active” and display a boss bar at the top of your screen as long as you are within protected chunks. This boss bar displays how many supplies are left relative to max capacity of 9 stacks. While the block can only hold 9 stacks, more can be pushed in with hoppers, chutes, funnels, etc. Inventory cannot be pulled out of the claim anchor with hoppers and the like. Only officers and owners can open the GUI and remove supplies manually.
If a claim anchor is active (visible boss bar), only officers and owners can open the anchor’s GUI. Only officers and owners can break the block as well. If it is not active, anyone from any team can do whatever they want. The block is blast proof and cannot be moved by pistons.
Supplies: Craft with 1 book, 1 iron block, 1 cooked pork chop, 1 diamond. Can be put inside of claim anchors to extend duration of protection. The time each supply provides is given by the formula: time = 60 * 0.99999^x . x is the number of non-natural blocks in your claim and time is in minutes. So in an undeveloped claim (0 non-natural blocks) one supply gives 60 minutes of protection, but in a claim with 20,000 non-natural blocks each supply gives 49 minutes protection.
Validator: Craft with 5 obsidian, 3 iron blocks, 1 compass. The validator is a block placed within an active claim. It connects to the team or person owning that claim. When create mod items (or vanilla pistons) that can interact with the world are placed inside it, it adds an NBT tag to them with the name of the team. This allows them to work within the chunks protected by the claim anchor. The validator accepts drills, saws, deployers, mechanical pistons, vanilla pistons, and schematicannons.
