Description

Elemental Scrolls adds a new magic system to Minecraft in the form of scrolls. Scroll Magic allows you to spend lifeforce in order to cast elemental spells of various degrees depending on the quality of the scroll you are using. Lower tier scrolls are decently powerful while the higher tier ones can create mass scale destruction such as meteor rains and tornadoes. The base mod adds 7 types of spell elements, those being: Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Ice, Nature and Lightning.

Guide

The main resource of this mod is lifeforce. You can compare it to mana which most other magic mods have with some key differences. Normally your current lifeforce is hidden, it can be seen at the top right of your screen after using a spell.

Spells consume lifeforce upon being cast, with more powerful scrolls requiring higher amounts of it.  Something important to note is that you can cast spells that require more lifeforce than you currently have, however if your lifeforce goes into the negatives you will begin to rapidly take damage until your lifeforce has gone back up to above zero. You can train your max lifeforce by casting spells.

To obtain spells you first have to look underground for Life Crystal Ore. 

It's not too rare and you can break it with a stone pickaxe or higher. Upon breaking it you will obtain some Life Crystals.

Life Crystals can either be eaten to restore some life energy or they can be used as currency to buy spells from Mages. Mages can be found in towers that rarely generate in any overworld biome.

Beware as the towers are protected by traps and guardians...

There are different mage variants, each one selling scrolls of their respective element.

If you trade with them enough they will level up, opening new trades for stronger scrolls.

To use a scroll just hold right click for 2 seconds while holding it. After the spell finishes charging it will be cast. Note: You can be damaged by your own spells so make sure to aim them away from yourself.
