Description

ElrosCraft is a Fabric 1.21.8 mod with an elvish, lunar/crystal aesthetic, currently spanning two related projects (ElrosCraft and the procedural MegaTrees worldgen mod) within the same codebase.

On the building materials side, the mod adds a Crystallite material line (blocks, pillars, stairs, slabs, posts, bars, ore) and a Moonstone line (raw stone, polished, bricks, and a dedicated ore that spawns 40-120 blocks high in the elven forest biome, dropping raw Moonstone with silk touch/fortune support). There's also a Starwood wood set (logs, planks, doors, trapdoors, fences, etc.) and decorative lighting blocks like the Crystal Lamp and Moon Lantern.

The progression centerpiece is the Chromatic Essence system. A Ritual Pedestal lets players perform a nighttime ceremony: right-click it with a Crystallite Shard after dark, and the shard levitates above the pedestal for two minutes with END_ROD/ENCHANT particle effects. If night holds for the full duration, it produces a neutral Chromatic Essence with a satisfying chime/resonate sound; if dawn breaks early or the pedestal is broken mid-ritual, it explodes (primed TNT). That essence, combined with Crystallite Shards/Blocks and a Diamond Block in a specific 3x3 pattern, crafts the Prismatic Altar, a glowing block-entity altar (charge bar UI, custom renderer) intended as a hub for further chromatic crafting.

The elven forest biome itself got fleshed out with three new flowers in a lunar palette - Glimmercap (rare, glowing white), Frostbell (pale blue bell), and Pale Lichenbloom (common cyan ground cover) - each with their own placed features that avoid spawning over water or floating in tree canopies. Underwater, custom seagrass and cold-kelp placements were added (built from scratch to avoid a feature-ordering crash with the vanilla river biome).

The newest major addition is the Lunar Stag, a fully custom passive animal: a slender deer with branching crystalline antlers, a custom model and recolored texture, standard breeding/flee/wander AI, and a unique mechanic where its antlers glow cyan only at night via a spider-eyes-style render layer. It's bred/tempted with Glimmercap or Frostbell and drops 1-2 Lunar Antler items (a new raw crafting material). It spawns naturally in the elven forest alongside rabbits, foxes, and sheep, and has its own spawn egg.

Smaller quality-of-life additions from this session: MegaBoneMeal and MegaUndo (tools for the MegaTrees mod) were made non-consumable so they can be reused indefinitely, and MegaUndo now has a craft recipe (Chromatic Essence + Crystallite Shards + Amethyst Shard). A build configuration fix (duplicatesStrategy) also resolved a jar-packaging crash caused by duplicate texture files between source sets.
