Description
Enchant Works is an independent KineticCore addon adding configurable anvil rules, enchantment filtering, five custom enchantments, and extensions to selected vanilla enchantments.
Requirements Component Required version Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge 47.4.2 or later in the 1.20.1 branch KineticCore 26.9.20+
Install Enchant Works and KineticCore on both the client and server.
The mod ID is enchantworks. The license is LGPLv3.
These requirements describe the Minecraft 1.20.1 source branch and do not refer to a future Minecraft release.
Anvil and Experience Rules
Enchant Works provides configurable control over vanilla anvil and enchanting costs.
Remove the Too Expensive cap and accumulated prior-work penalty for selected items. Use whitelist mode to unlock only matching items, or blacklist mode to preserve vanilla restrictions only for configured exceptions. Match items by registry ID, item tag prefixed with #, or an entire mod prefixed with @. Enable fixed-base XP calculation for anvil and enchanting costs. With the default base level of 30, a three-level cost uses the XP difference between levels 30 and 27 instead of charging the much larger XP difference that would normally occur at a very high player level. Enable cheap renaming so rename-only anvil operations cost one level.
These mechanics are configurable. Installing Enchant Works may change the cost of existing repair and enchantment workflows, so modpack authors should review the generated defaults before finalizing progression balance.
Enchantment Filtering
Enchant Works provides three separate filtering systems.
The allowlist permits configured item/enchantment combinations even when vanilla compatibility rules would normally reject them.
The denylist blocks configured combinations and can invalidate an anvil result when the resulting enchantment combination is prohibited.
A separate global disabled-enchantment list prevents selected enchantments from being applied through anvils and enchanting tables.
Combination rules use the following format:
target ; enchantment IDs
Examples:
minecraft:stick ; minecraft:knockback, minecraft:sharpness
#minecraft:pickaxes ; minecraft:mending
@create ; minecraft:mending
minecraft:stick ; *
Place each rule in the appropriate allowlist or denylist.
- and ALL both match every enchantment.
These entries are configuration syntax examples, not commands.
Disabling one of Enchant Works' own registered enchantments is also subject to the restart requirements described below.
Custom Enchantments Smelter
enchantworks:smelter
Smelts eligible block drops, can cook mob drops, and can process container contents.
It supports Fortune interaction, XP scaling, and configurable output multipliers.
Important behavior:
Sneaking suppresses Smelter behavior. Container processing has its own option. Mob-drop cooking has its own option. Output multipliers can be configured independently.
Multiplier rules can use entries such as:
2x #forge:ores
3x minecraft:raw_iron
The first matching rule determines the multiplier.
The generated defaults double eligible ore and raw-material output.
Leech
enchantworks:leech
Eligible direct attacks can restore health based on damage dealt and enchantment level.
Leech can also steal an eligible beneficial effect from the target.
Configurable values include:
Trigger chance Healing ratio Effect-steal chance Effect allowlists and denylists Sixth Sense
enchantworks:sixth_sense
Highlights nearby entities with category-specific outline colors while the player is sneaking with the enchantment equipped.
It is normally a helmet enchantment.
Client-side display settings include:
Scan radius Scan interval Outline colors Custom entity IDs Enlightenment
enchantworks:enlightenment
Increases XP generated from:
Player mob kills Block breaking
It scales those XP drops specifically. It is not a universal multiplier for every possible XP source.
Omni Tool
enchantworks:omni_tool
Allows an enchanted tool to satisfy harvesting checks normally associated with:
Pickaxes Axes Shovels Hoes Shears
Mining-speed compensation is configurable.
Normal loot tables still apply. Only explicitly configured exception blocks are forced to drop themselves.
Omni Tool can appear in the third enchanting-table offer when the displayed enchanting level is at least 30.
Its appearance chance is configurable and defaults to 10%.
Enchant Works also includes a shapeless recipe for the Omni Tool enchanted book using:
Netherite Pickaxe Netherite Axe Netherite Shovel Shears Book
The recipe produces no usable result when Omni Tool is disabled.
Vanilla Enchantment Extensions
Enchant Works also extends selected vanilla enchantments.
Infinity Bows
Bows with Infinity can be drawn and fired without carrying an arrow.
Infinity Buckets
Buckets with Infinity preserve their current bucket state when used.
A filled bucket can repeatedly place its fluid without being consumed.
An empty bucket can remove fluid while remaining empty.
Forge bucket fluid operations are also supported.
Channeling II
When Better Channeling is enabled, Channeling II removes the thunderstorm requirement from the trident lightning check.
Other trident hit requirements still apply.
This does not cause unconditional lightning on every attack.
Getting Started Install Enchant Works and KineticCore on both the client and server. Launch the game and enter a world. Press F6 to open the KineticCore configuration center. Select Enchant Works. Configure the server-side anvil and enchantment page for costs, filters, enchantment registration, and balancing values. Use the separate client-side Sixth Sense page for outline colors and scanning preferences. Test representative anvil combinations and enchanted tools before distributing a finished modpack configuration.
The F6 key binding can be changed through Minecraft's Controls menu.
The primary configuration file is:
config/kineticcore/anvilenchantments.toml
Its generated comments document individual fields and rule syntax.
Saving and Multiplayer Behavior
Saving the configuration page refreshes applicable runtime values and rule caches.
Enchantment registration switches and registration-level exclusions require a full game or server restart.
Client and server should use matching enchantment registration settings.
Server-authoritative settings are not ordinary client preferences. When connected to a remote server without a supported secure editing path, the server configuration page cannot be edited from the client. Maintain those settings directly on the server.
Sixth Sense display preferences remain locally editable while connected to a multiplayer server.
