About
Description
colormapper
Fabric mod that tints fog, sky, and water with the foliage colors of the biome where vanilla fog stays gray, softening the borders while sun, moon, and clouds stay exactly vanilla. Fog, sky, water, and a thin full screen haze follow the biome color with no settings screen, applying on launch with no setup.
Requirements
Runs on Fabric Loader and Fabric API, with no other dependencies.
Installation
- Install Fabric Loader.
- Drop Fabric API and this jar into the
modsfolder. - Launch the game. The tints apply on their own.
mods/exotherm-but-colormapper-1.0.0.jar
Compatibility
- Client side only on Fabric. No server install needed, in single-player and on dedicated servers alike.
- Adds no blocks, items, or world data, so existing saves load as before.
- Needs no rendering mods. It only recolors fog, sky, and water.
FAQ
Does it work with performance mods? It only recolors fog, sky, and water, so there's no overlap by design. Treat those combos as untested.
Is it safe to add to an existing world? Yes. It adds nothing to the world, so existing saves load as before.
Does it change the sun, moon, or clouds? No. Those stay exactly vanilla.
How does this differ from the paid edition? The paid edition adds a settings menu with presets and sliders, mist, golden hour, midnight blue, post effects, and biome block light, and it needs the Sodium mod. This edition keeps the 1.0.0 tints with no settings.
How the tint works
The mod reads the foliage color for the camera biome each frame. Fog blends that with a fainter sample from four chunks out, which softens the borders. Sky and water read the same color, and the haze draws it thin across the full screen.
