About

Description

This mod changes the way EXP is distributed - first of all, it adds 5 new Experience Bottles, which means 6 experience bottles total in the game. The mod also adds a new Exp Retriever Table, which allows you to retrieve and store your EXP within exp essence. Each of the new XP bottles have their name taken from the greek alphabet, so there is Alpha XP bottle, Beta XP bottle and all the way to Zeta XP bottle.

The higher in the alphabet, the better is the bottle. For reference, minecraft's default XP bottle (which i renamed to Beta XP bottle) gives you 3–11 experience points on contact with the ground, Alpha XP bottle (one before Beta) will always give you 1 experience point, and currently the best XP bottle (Zeta XP bottle) will give you 360-375 experience points which is alot.

To obtain the XP bottles, you either have to get Exp Essences or find them in structures such as deepdark. (scroll down for a full list)

EXP Essence is an intermediate item to obtain, it's farmable and can be found in structures, dropped by mobs (Witch, Evoker, Warden, Allay) or obtained through the Exp Retriever table.

To craft an Exp Retriever table you'll need 4 planks and 2 amethyst shards. To get Exp Essence through it you have to right-click the retriever table while holding a bunch of amethyst shards, 1 experience point will be taken from your Experience bar and it'll be transformed into exp essence, 1 Amethyst shard + 1 current Exp = 1 Exp Essence.

Right clicking the Exp Essence will cause you to absorb it and you'll have a 50% chance of getting your 1 exp back. To craft XP bottles (which guarantee you EXP) you'll have to start from Alpha XP Bottle, which is crafted in the crafting table using 1 empty glass bottle and 4 Exp essences around it. Next up, to get Beta XP Bottle you'll need 1 Alpha XP Bottle, 4 Exp Essences around it and four, EITHER lapis lazuli OR amethyst shards.

Next XP bottles require the previously-previous XP bottle instead of 4 exp essences - sounds confusing i know lol, but it's easy when you notice the pattern. Take a look at all the recipes below:

Upon crafting a given experience bottle, you shouldn't lose any potential exp - it's all calculated so that (for example) experience from 4 Delta bottles and 1 Epsilon bottle will be less than experience from the Zeta bottle

You may also use amethyst shards instead of lapis lazuli to craft these bottles.

Here's the list of all the structures you could find exp bottles, or exp essences in:
