🌿 EyPipes

Grow your own herbs, dry and ferment them, and smoke them in one of ten hand-made pipes or a cigar, with animated smoke and herb-specific effects.

📦 Versions

Java 17 for 1.20.1, Java 21 for 1.21.x.

🌾 Herbs

Four crops, each grown from its own seeds:

• Erbapipa: a two-block-tall tobacco plant
• Valeriana, Ginseng and Salvia: smaller herbs with their own smoking effects

🏚️ From harvest to pipe

1. Harvest the crop. Fortune gives better yields.
2. Dry the leaves on a Drying Rack (up to 3 at a time).
3. Cut dried leaves on a Cutting Board with the Knife. One leaf gives 4 cut herbs.
4. Ferment cut herbs in a Tobacco Jar (up to 6). After one in-game day they are Aged, after three they are Fermented.
5. Fill your pipe: hold cut herbs in your off hand and sneak + right-click with the pipe. Then hold right-click to smoke.

Herb quality sets how long the effects last: fresh 0.5×, dried 1×, aged 1.5×, fermented 2×. Herb Bundles store herbs as a block and keep their quality.

• JEI, REI and EMI: recipe pages for the mod's processing steps (not yet on 1.21.10)

⚙️ Configuration

The config lives in config/eypipes-common.toml (gameplay) and config/eypipes-client.toml (visual effects). It covers:

• crop growth
• drying time
• drops and Fortune
• compost chances
• each smoke particle type

Run /eypipes reload to apply changes without restarting.

🎮 Gameplay Mechanics

Growing Your Herbs

1. Plant seeds on tilled soil like regular crops
2. Wait for growth - crops grow through multiple stages
3. Harvest mature crops for maximum yield
4. Dry the harvest on drying racks (requires sunlight by default)
5. Cut and process dried herbs on cutting boards
6. Craft your pipe and enjoy!

Smoking Effects

• Erbapipa: Classic smoking experience with visual effects
• Valeriana: Provides calming effects (Slowness + Night Vision)
• Ginseng: Energizing effects (Speed + Haste boost)
• Duration: Effects last based on herb quality and type

📦 Installation

Requirements

• Minecraft: 1.21.1
• NeoForge: 21.1.83 or newer
• Java: 21 or newer

Installation Steps

1. Download NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1
2. Download EyPipes from the releases page
3. Place the mod file in your mods folder
4. Launch Minecraft with the NeoForge profile
