Description

FactionCore

FactionCore is a lightweight, clean, and intuitive faction mod designed for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge 47.4.10). Build your faction from the ground up using your hard-earned resources, invite trusted allies, customize your identity, and navigate the tensions of war and peace.

Note: FactionCore is required on both Client and Server (side=BOTH).
Key Features

  • Resource-Based Creation: Establish your faction by spending configurable resources (Items like Diamonds or XP levels).
  • Identity & Customization: Set custom faction names, choose unique chat/nametag colors, and hoist your custom faction banner.
  • Colored Tags & Nametags: Display your faction loyalty clearly with custom [FactionName] Player tags in chat, on the tab list, and colored nametags above players' heads.
  • Invitation Management: Send invites with built-in expiration timers, accept, or decline with simple commands.
  • Built-in PvP Protection: Keep your team safe with friendly-fire toggles. Friendly-fire rules protect teammates and formal allies against accidental strikes and arrows.
  • Diplomacy & Democratic Voting: Form mutual alliances or initiate internal faction votes to declare war and peace.
Commands

Use either /faction or /f to access mod commands:

  • General Commands

    • /f create <name> — Spend resources to create a new faction.
    • /f info [name] — View details, member list, PvP status, and diplomacy relations.
    • /f list — List all active factions.
    • /f leave — Leave your current faction (Note: If the leader leaves, the faction is disbanded).
  • Membership Commands

    • /f invite <player> — Invite a player to join (Leader only).
    • /f accept [name] — Accept a pending invite.
    • /f deny [name] — Decline a pending invite.
    • /f kick <player> — Remove a member from the faction (Leader only).
  • Leader & Customization Commands

    • /f setname <name> — Rename your faction.
    • /f setcolor <color> — Change your faction's display color.
    • /f setbanner — Set the faction banner to the banner currently held in your main hand.
    • /f pvp on|off — Toggle friendly fire between faction members.
    • /f disband — Disband the faction entirely.
  • Diplomacy Commands

    • /f ally <name> — Send an alliance offer to another faction.
    • /f ally accept <name> — Accept an incoming alliance offer.
    • /f ally break <name> — Break an existing alliance.
    • /f war <name> — Start an internal faction vote to declare war.
    • /f peace <name> — Start an internal faction vote to make peace.
    • /f vote yes|no — Cast your vote during an active faction poll.
Diplomacy System

  • Alliances (ALLY): Require mutual consent between faction leaders. Allied factions cannot damage each other, offering coordinated protection across teams.
  • War & Peace (WAR / NEUTRAL): Leaders initiate a faction-wide vote (/f war or /f peace). If the required majority of your members vote YES before the timer runs out, the diplomatic status updates automatically.
Configuration

Server owners can fully customize gameplay settings via <world>/serverconfig/factioncore-server.toml:

  • Creation Cost: Choose between ITEM (default: 5 Diamonds) or XP (default: 10 Levels).
  • Limits: Adjust maximum members per faction and name length limits.
  • Timers: Configure invite expiry times and voting durations.
  • Voting Threshold: Set the percentage required for war and peace votes to pass.
